Hi all, I should probably post a little update just in case anyone was wondering.
I got the job! The interview wasn't what I expected it to be. There was a scenario based group exercise as expected, however the interview itself was a lot more relaxed. The questions were based more around the...
Yeah, I've tried to focus on their safety goals and motto, so I've tried to incorporate those into my practice answers and it's given me something bounce off from. I like to think I'm easy to work with and generally a positive person, but it's hard to show that character when I'm so nervous...
Thank you very much for that. Yeah, I've practiced some questions for the 1 - 1 about customer service, safety, and the usual interview questions just so that I can think of some main bullet points to get across, and some previous situations that I've been involved in that might be relevant...
Hi,
I've been offered an in person interview for a Customer Service Assistant role at a NR managed station. The email says that a group exercise and an interview can be expected. The interview I can kind of prepare for but the group exercise really throws me off as I've never really done...
Hi,
I applied for a Train Presentation Operative role for Northern just under 2 weeks ago via the Ganymede recruitment agency, they replied to my application 3 minutes after sending it asking me to complete a virtual one way interview. I completed this the same day, however I've heard nothing...
Hi, just curious if this was a Class 43 or a Class 73 on 1Q01 / 1Q02. I imagine it was a 73 because it's on the Merseyrail lines but just wondering

Hi all, I just wanted to kind of bump the thread a little bit to get a bit more publicity for the database. Updates are still being made to the database by the community, there's now various different sub-sections, including Trams, London Underground and more, with more...
I feel that half the issue is having a timetabled 30 second set-down time in the loop at all stations. Especially during peak, services would stand for at least 45 seconds at all the loop stations which often means trains leave the loop 3 mins late, and with little to no recovery time heading...
For reference, the inbound service for 2C46 arrived at Chester 6 minutes late and it had a 6 minute turnaround, with the extra 2 minutes I presume being the crew being informed and informing the passengers of the change of plan. Usually from what I can tell, seeing as the inbound service was 6...
Example number 574637382 on why the Chester service needs some sort of fix up, granted not easy however.
It shouldn't really be acceptable to run fast all the way from Chester - Birkenhead because of a 7 minute delay, especially during peak time, even if the previous service was 7 mins delayed...
Worth noting - when I was shadowing a Train Manager (which is now their official name on the network), I got to use the unit dedicated phone. Basically, it's an Android phone that has the unit number on the back that stays with the unit and it contains an app that the TM can speak into and...
I suppose it'd be useful to have some sort of confirmation procedure on the unit but half the time the trains don't know where they are according to the PIS so it's probably just another thing to not work, and it would probably have to be easily overridden anyway for platform changes
The DOO cameras don't always come on instantly from what I've been told usually taking a few seconds, then the driver has to check everything so it kind of defeats the increased acceleration timing gain anyway
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
