As Wrinkley noted earlier today, very busy around Lostock this afternoon/evening.

Looking at the photo's through Lostock station again, I notice there are no Earth or AT wires visible - to be installed later I guess?

More progress at Lostock - C&C now installed through the station and C&C being installed on the Wigan branch. I was under the impression the Wigan branch was going to be electrified at a later date?

Much action between Dean Clough Bridge and Lostock this afternoon - Lostock platform refurbishment continues. As noted by Wrinkley earlier this week C&C had been installed on the down line to between Dean Clough Bridge and the Ladybridge - this has now been extended to the main electrical OLE...

Question for the group re OLE power supply. I have visited several websites with regard to power and it appears an autotransformer system is utilised now. I understand the basic theory that this type of system reduces the requirement for points along the track where power is fed into the system...

Noted this afternoon (Tue) in between Beaumont Rd Bridge and Ladybridge a short section of catenary wire with two sets of insulators along it. Would this be (and I'm guessing here!) a neutral section?

Further progress this afternoon (Sunday) East of Lostock Station to Ladybridge - more ATF wire being installed

After two weeks of very little progress East of Lostock Station, this afternoon (Sunday 24th) quite a lot was was happening!

Hi LDECRexile - Yes of course please feel free to use these photo's, and any subsequent ones, as you wish. I often walk along this section of track so I should be able to upload more photo's as the project advances.

They were pulling it from a position situated just West of Lostock station on the Wigan line.

Seen this afternoon (Sun 10th) from Lostock Station towards and past Ladybridge what appears to be earth wire being installed - please correct me if it's not earth wire!
