Re Batley Station Area
The Batley station subway has now been infilled. (Around five days between photo’s below.
The first OLE masts have appeared in and around platform two.
Both platforms have been lengthened and widened. Platform facing and tactile edging has begun on platform two...
Re Batley Station Area.
I noticed today that a new set of points are being built up within a compound near to the existing cross over.
The design and direction of the turn out suggests an opposite set up to the existing crossover!
Another possibility is that they are for a passing loop which...
Re Batley Area.
Works to progress OLE foundations and infrastructure start from Monday 2nd February for three consecutive Monday to Friday night time working weeks.
The area covered is between Morley tunnel and Batley Viaduct.
I’ve attached the below from literature posted to railway...
I believe the footpath was closed a couple of months ago due to concerns about a supporting wall adjacent to the path but outside of Network rail land.
The wall in question formed part of the station hotel that was destroyed in a fire in the 1930’s.
As for the foundation work, I suppose the...
Batley Station Area.
Union Mills Viaduct - Four pairs of OLE brackets have now been installed across the sixteenth arch structure.
Platform Extensions

Both extensions are in...

The below...

I noticed a couple of days ago that some work crews had a mix of casings and steel re-bar cages fitted with bolts and brackets at one end.
And this is a very large guess in that the casings I photographed earlier are still to be bored out, have re-bar cages installed...
Re Batley Area
Piling has started in and around Batley train station and the Batley end of Morley tunnel.
Opposing driven pile casings are visible from Soothill overbridge towards Batley station. (orange covers)
Towards the former Lady Ann Crossing, areas have been cleared of line side...
I noticed the same this morning whilst on my daily walk.
I suppose with planned OLE works starting in June and planned works for the station in the near future , maybe they require better access to site?
Batley and Dewsbury Area
Starting in June works are planned for installation of OLE between Dewsbury viaduct and Howley Mill Lane, Batley.
I managed to capture a picture of the letter for the planned works and schedule from one of the station notice boards at Batley station.
I forgot about the existing footbridge at Dewsbury station and the need to make the current passing loop redundant.
As I posted before, this section from Dewsbury to Morley new station has no plans in the public domain.
With two stations in need of modification and/or modernisation, two...
