I see this more of a smokescreen excuse for the failure to open the line rather than a real reason. If it really is a problem (and I'm not convinced of that) then the line could open without calling at Winslow, in a similar manner to the way The Northumberland Line was opened.
I travelled on 172331 today. They have ‘polished’ the windows to remove the etching that afflicts the rest of the fleet. There‘s a couple of millimetres in the corners where the marks are still there. Other things that I noticed that had been replaced were the concertina surrounds to the end...
When combined with the existing Shrewsbury service this gives Darlaston and Willenhall a train about every 30 minutes from Birmingham, but in the opposite direction the two trains are only 5 minutes apart followed by a 55 minute gap.

It's hard to fully work out what is proposed, but there is an extra Stratford-Marylebone train in each direction that has limited stops (Leamington, Banbury and Bicester North (+ Beaconsfield in one direction). I think these two...
There is also the need to factor in the non-productive hours. Unlike an employee in a high street coffee shop who is selling stuff throughly their paid hours, a train catering crew member would have many ‘lost’ hours during the day when they aren’t actually providing a service (turn arounds and...
During the day, the Millennium Point tram leaves Bull Street four minutes before the tram direct to Edgbaston Village. It arrives at Corporation Street 8 minutes after it. Part of this seems to be allowing 5 minutes to change direction at Millennium Point - there are 6 minutes between the Albert...
The timetable as published on the website is quite poor in the southbound direction. The daytime weekday pattern has intervals between trams on The Royal to Bull Street section of 4 then 11 minutes. In the evening this becomes 5 minutes and then 25 minutes. On Sundays daytimes the intervals are...
Although from the May timetable change, the class 730 operated 22:27 from New Street to Wolverhampton (2W99j will call at both stations, it currently passes through non-stop.
