Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

All the way through East Garforth now has all the gear attached to the masts - to the untrained eye it looks like theres just the wire itself left to be added.

Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

East Garforth now has the steelwork up in the station itself. I didn't spot when the piling was done but it was done before this weekend and the steelwork was lying under the footbridge on Friday. I went back this morning and the steelwork is up.

Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

I've often wondered if after electrification of the Harrogate loop it would make Leeds - Harrogate - York - Leeds running as a loop with the timetabling buffer being at Harrogate or terminating and reversing in Leeds from the east would be a viable option to free up west facing bays at Leeds. I...

Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

Four tracking will end shortly after thorpe park, the embankment to Garforth would cost a fortune and then the route between Garforth and East Garforth wouldn't accomodate 4 tracks.

This is really interesting, especially the provision for 4 tracking. Does anyone know if the easing of the curves at Neville Hill has any provision for 4 tracking? Either by having room for a running line either side of the new alignment, or more likely room for a pair of lines in the inside of...

Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

Only 1 overbridge just after South Milford (heading south) but plenty of farm crossings. Electrifying doesn't provide huge benefit though with there being no connections to the west. Only 1tph York to Hull could be switched to electric and that relies on electrification beyond Selby all the way...

Bradford FS 4th Platform (Construction updates)

Where does the sectional appendix measure from? If its flush from the buffers this is rarely where trains stop. A metre or two is lost with the space from the buffers

They had revenue inspection officers on the footbridge today preventing access to the bridge without a ticket. I know the road bridge has a footpath on one side but I would’ve thought the footbridge was a right of way across the station.

Yes, it’s been loud overnight on Tuesday and Wednesday night this week. (I live a stones throw from east Garforth)

    Fences between Running Lines

Crossgates station east of leeds has a fence between the running lines presumably to deter people from crossing the tracks as oppose to the long walk around

Leeds to York electrification would only immediately deliver 1tph switch from 2/3 car DMU to 3 car EMU I think and a once daily LNER service. The east facing bay platforms at Leeds can’t take 4 cars I don’t think.

    Could Garforth's stations be combined?

I can't see the combination of Garforth's two stations happening whilst the local councilor is still in office. He's an independent who has done wonders for the town. We still have a police and fire station despite numerous attempts to close them, we have oodles of free parking leading to a...

Kings Cross ‘uncrossed’ Layout/Remodelling - Information and Updates

To my untrained eye i'd agree with you on phyisical space for the alignment but the wires would be a bit close for comfort.
