Hi,
I just catched a bit of Inside Out West Midlands, in which they said the Servern Valley Railway is desperate for new engineer apprenticeships. They talked about how people aren't taking on a "career" there.
Now I assumed it's all voluntary, for no pay; but the way they talked was as if it...
The London Midland website allows you to buy a ticket to "London All-Zones Travelcard". What does this actually mean?
i.e. does it give you a ticket to Euston plus an all zones travelcard? Or does it just allow you to travel to a station in the travelcard area?
Finally where is this ticket...
Unless I'm imagining things (possible) the departure screen said International and Coventry, other people said so too. I could be wrong.
There was nothing in the train to say so and no voice over.
Just had one of those days from hell, but basically the ticket office told us to catch the 1043 Bournemouth service from Wolverhampton, which was announced and said on the screens it was calling at Birmingham International and Coventry. We had a shock when it passed through Tyseley; the guard...
Wolverhampton's is in entirely the wrong place. The only Virgin trains from platform 4 are to New Street, 15 minutes away. If it was by the entrance it would have the Scotland services or at least be on the way to the Euston train. Surprised anyone goes out of their way to it when services are...
Moffat is leaving after episode 5 so we could well get Davros later in the series.
I'm personally glad they're getting the Daleks out of the way so soon, I find them overdone but kinda a neccessity for a DW series at this point.
I guess as with the railways it's all personal experience!
I was with Telewest->NTL->Virgin media, and had so many problems with Telewest (FilmFlex, etc); no problems with Virgin at all. Similarly I found Virgin Megastores much more useful and friendly than HMV. Without some kind of nation wide...
I haven't really visited that many, so:
1. Birmingham Moor Street

2. Leicester

3. Stourbridge Town, strange as it seems...
Two ways a review could go: 1. Virgin turn out to be the better bid and keep it, which is a good thing. 2. Virgin turn out to be the worser bid and lose it, and pay the legal fees, which is also a good thing.
I see absolutely no problem with waiting for MPs to have a look at the deal especially when an entire party want that as well as an e-petition. The Virgin-are-being-babies bashers are just as bad as the blind Virgin lovers. This is serious business not just some quick decision and if people...
Wasn't there an issue with the seating - they promised 35% more, people thought it would mean bigger trains, but actually meant moving the seats closer together? (Don't quote me on that, I just remember hearing that). I've only ever had terrible experiences with Cross Country having used them...
I know I am probably a gullible fool but I signed mainly so that Virgin don't start domestic flights between London and Manchester like proposed, I really don't want that to happen. I know that's a terrible reason to support one franchise over another but I'd rather have a bad* train operator...
