Many thanks to everyone here for your thoughts and opinions. Going to give Virgin a call in the morning and try and rearrange my seat. Otherwise, I will, as many have suggested, find another unreserved seat on the day. I'll report back tomorrow regarding whether I have been successful or not!

calc7, Thanks very much for your response. So long as I am prompt in arriving, I shouldn't have much problem securing a seat with a plug socket. :)

Hi guys, So I have booked myself (Advance) on a train in June to visit Glasgow University. Having been drawn in by the voucher packs the company allow you to buy for refreshments and such, I completely missed the options with regards to seating. I only realised this when I booked another set...
