50007 sold to Boden Rail Engineering

That would please the English Electric mob but what about the Sulzerites? If you would really baulk at a 47 why not throw a peak up front with the 50. 47's underpowered compared to a 40.......!?

    Questions about driving trains.

Probably nothing to do with the driver, virtually everyone leaves Meadowhall feeling miserable and would probably moan at anything anyway!

That's no bad thing :twisted: --- old post above --- --- new post below --- In all seriousness I don't mind what the traction is as long as it is pre 1985, as I am a victim of my age. Give me a good honest diesel with plenty of noise and clag and I will be happy! I too like 37's I used to...

50007 sold to Boden Rail Engineering

47's are only hated by the misguided. To improve reliability of future railtours may I suggest 50007 be paired with a 47 or some other Sulzer powered MONSTER!:twisted: --- old post above --- --- new post below --- 47's are probably hated by the same people that don't like bands when...

50007 sold to Boden Rail Engineering

Couldn't agree more, though I know of a man who goes by the name of Saltley1328 who may well beg to differ! --- old post above --- --- new post below --- That said any loco that's preserved is great news as far as I'm concerned, no matter it's livery. I am saving up for a 47, just a shame Atlas...

    Railway Myths (2013)

Myth # Nobody Longer Cares Modern trains are far better, cleaner, faster, punctual and are held in far greater esteem than the old loco hauled services that used to blight the land during the BR Blue era. Mmmmmmmmm.................................I think not!

    Questions about driving trains.

Kneedown, as you will probably gather from my username, I may have been hoping for different answer :D. That said having been raised on a diet of Duff and Peak still a result! Grids were probably the most intimidating machine I ever saw up close. It is good to know they were enjoyed by those...
