Look what has been done at London Bridge. Compered with the cheap poly tunnel at Victoria and half the station still a mess. Its amazing what a lot of money can do.

NR have built a big compound in Miles Platting for the improvement of the Manchester Stalybridge section. I presume this will include elecrification.

There used to be a morning Rochdale London train service, via Victoria and Newton le Willows. Just after privatisation started. Maybe that could run a new service through the Chord?

The Middlewood Locks development has started. Making Whitby's Option 15 dead and buried. Its a pity the project didn't begin two years ago. It might have stopped Whitby's pointless appeals.

Does anybody know, how much more the Chord will cost. Since Whitby's two failed appeals?

Network Rail have recently signed a partnership contract with Skanska/Bam, Amey and Siemens, to build the Chord. You have only to see the work in progress to know the Chord is going to be built. If Whitby wants to go further down the legal path and make fool of himself bring it on.

Thanks for the info. Couldn't the appeal court now deny Whitby leave to appeal to the SCOTUK?

Was it a unanimous decision by the Justices to reject the Appeal. Or do we have to wait till the judgements published after Easter to find out?

Great news, hopefully Whitby will now give up his pointless campaign trying to stop the Chord. Or is that wishful thinking.

There's a rumour that Whitby's appeal has been dismissed according to WNXX Interactive what ever that is.

Has anybody any news about Whitby's appeal?

I have been reading the post December 2017 TPE services, between Manchester, Huddersfield and Leeds. Many of these services will use the Chord, along with Trains from the Calder Valley route. The prospect of Whitby delaying the Project even further, will cause many tons of manure to hit the fan.

If Whitby wins his appeal against not being able to appeal. What happens to the Easter closure of Victoria and the rest of the planned works. Will it mean even more delays and cost?

In the unlikely event of the TWO being revoked. Could the Dft. or NR. have the decision overturned by the Supreme Court?
