I have just submitted my Comments in support of the planning application, I urge everyone (assuming you agree with Reunification!) on here to do the same.
Do it today, the deadline is the 7th.

True, although arguably more complex in the sense that at Bala it is for a new railway on a new alignment. I hope the GCR have been involved in discussions with the planners as the scheme has been developed.
Given the support given by the Local Authority to-date, and their awareness of the importance of the GCR to the local economy, I can't imagine for one moment that permission will be denied.
Why not contact the Gloucestershire-Warwickshire railway and ask how much it cost to build the Hayles Abbey Halt platform? This is a simple timber-faced structure built by volunteers. I'm sure in return for a donation to the fundraising for their current viaduct repairs they would advise.
I think I would regard a line around the shed as a 'first iteration' to establish a connection between North and South. In the fullness of time an alternative location for the shed could allow the layout to be revisited. Although there is a height difference to overcome, I guess a chord into the...
Phil, thanks for your reply. As you say, not ideal, but unless another location can be found for the shed, probably the best option to start off with.
I'm looking forward to the Factory Flyover work starting!

Given that a lot of effort and expenditure has been put into upgrading the shed, what is the current thinking on reinstating the railway round or through the shed once the reunification is complete?
Andy
And why should the railway afford to raise the bridge? It's the road-users who have grown their vehicles over the last decades, so should pay for any road improvements.
