That is a real shame and would have been very very helpful. From Hadfield to Stocksbridge there are no buses in this area of the Peak District which is a great shame. I did a walk once in the Longdendale Valley and the closest I could get by public transport was Hadfield, where I had to walk in...
I pass daily, Monday to Friday on the train to Leeds for work and.....no work has restarted as yet, maybe unsurprisingly, but not sure why? Contracter not available? The site, currently, does look an eyesore though.
Customers at Leeds who require Huddersfield are advised to go via Sheffield...are they nuts? Why are they giving such shocking advice? Only go that way if you want to get home from work at midnight.
Could call at Brighouse too.

Seems crazy that they aren't using Brighouse, its only 4 miles or so from Huddersfield, much more convenient than Dewsbury.
A lot of bemused looking passengers at Huddersfield this morning mate and judging by the numbers just turning up at the normal time ie 6am then I'd say, yes, looks like a lot of people haven't heard. If they had they wouldn't turn up at 6am to wait 45 minutes for a coach to Dewsbury thats going...
How many people do you think actually know about the disruption before they tip up at the station at 6am? If they did they might have expected it to be all sorted by now and normal service resumed, as advertised yesterday? Most rail users aren't enthusiasts or totally clued up on the network as...
Bit chaotic at Huddersfield this morning, and not surprisingly, disappointing. 1 staff member, no trains (understandley so at the minute), no coaches well not at any reasonable frequency. Unsure why services can't call additionally at Brighouse and ship people there? The staff member said coach...
It's the same for midweek football matches, a few weeks ago I attended Harrogate Town v Huddersfield Town on a Tuesday night. I thought it would be pretty easy to get back, even on a night, the next available train after the game was at 22.45 then getting back in to Huddersfield at 00.40!!! Its...
The Harehills area is ludicrous. I work at St James' and Beckett Street is absolutely gridlocked from 3pm onwards, I'm surprised anything stays on time in that area.
Huddersfield is back open for business everything ship shape, looking good, everything running on time. Platform 1 is huge!!!
Edit: although there appears to be some delays now.
Been using Brighouse from Huddersfield Monday to Friday and a couple of Satutdays too and, on the whole, it's been pretty efficient but I catch the 254 down in a morning and anything going up in the late afternoon. On the odd occasion I have caught the RRB's they seem pretty efficient and get...
