    Blackpool to Manchester needs 6 cars, people are often left on the platforms at rush hour, and the capacity issue though the Castlefield corridor means this is the only way solve the problem (plus they lengthened a few platforms to accommodate the train lengths)

    I use that commuter route almost daily, and holiday luggage storage is a real issue with the carriages being as crammed as they are already

    Somehow Kirkham seems to be worse off in the evenings. Unless there are more carriages this may be a very congested route at rush hour, with all trains now going via the Bolton corridor
