    I think your right that rather than converting the crossing to an AOCL+B (cheaper option) they would change the system to the more expensive ABCL due to the accidents and the publics opinion. Maybe the 5 second amber light during the strike-in at Halkirk is there to provide more warning for road...

    Hi, Halkirk level crossing has new (To contact railway please phone ******) boards. I thought that ABCL crossings had telephones rather than the blue contact boards. Sorry if my post comes up funny as I am new to this website.
