Yes, it was an evening peak service - I remember working it... it was initially a 319 working and then when it changed to a 6 car 331 service it became a problem as the conductors local door in car 4 was off the platform, so we had to lock out the back unit at Preston; until a platform extension...

The same, should be known as SDO switch but it overrides the ASDO; such is jargon - try telling people about BILs when we've always called them hazard lights......
The last time I checked was that conductors at Northern had an instruction to use the SDO switch on multiple 331s as the ASDO isn't reliable. Curiously for a number of years now you are allowed to let ASDO work on multiple 195s....

Had time for a look at progress yesterday - wiring on both lines is in place from Haymarket to Saughton. On the down line it starts again outside the back of the M&S cafe at the Gyle and has been run out all the way to Carlowrie Farm ie only about 1km short of the end of the masts. The up line...
