I regularly had various offal meats in my childhood in the '50s. Among my favourites were lamb's liver, ox and lamb's heart, lamb's kidneys, 0xtail, pig's trotter and hock (pig). All of this was cooked much as it was in the '20s & 30's.
Today, we still have liver (pig's is better), kidneys...
Your aversion to blue content in lighting judging by measures you take seems to be on the extreme end of the scale. Equally, there are many who need brighter and whiter illumination owing to eye defects such as cataracts *, so providing UV levels in lighting are low, (led lighting is free from...
That is a risk of travelling so late, including driving, then expecting/trying to get to sleep too quickly. If being alert is a regular critical requirement, then overall lifestyle needs to be compatible. In your case, you have fixed it simply by acquiring corrective spectacles.
The problem, as always is that no one colour temperature or illumination level satisfies everbody. There's also the fact that many have to drive on reaching their train destination, so winding down their alertness has a safety dimension.
I'm sure you would be happy to pay a very small increase in tax (along with everybody else) so that you get cheaper rail travel.bearing in mind the proportion of domestic journeys that are made using non-rail modes nationally.
Get tinted lens glasses.
Often, there's not much of an opportunity to:
a) walk down the platform, especially at Farringdon, or London Bridge as the platform is often clogged with those waiting for their train, 2 minutes later.
B) as a consequence of the above situation, and the knowledge that...
... but with an age, disability or group travel Railcard,* your already discounted 'non-South-East' fares would get another third off. So if you made 10 journeys a year in the North, the base cost per mile would be ~10p, whereas my local equivalent would be ~13.3p. That's just as 'unfair'.
For...
Maybe us in the south-east should campaign for parity in p/mile for rail travel. It's OK for those on NSE cards, but all those on age, disability or group travel railcards are worse off in the south-east compared to other areas, because we get 33% off ~20p/mile whereas they get 33% off...
Not yet had the pleasure of a 730, but plenty of journeys in 350s & 450s. The Desiros do ride better than the equivalent Derby offerings but their plug doors are painfully slow.
But headcodes are not visible to passengers* so they need some indication for a journey that passes through Sutton on a train that doesn't change direction.
* Yes, I know that we can easily find them, but with headcode displays no longer available on the head of the train, most are oblivious to them
I look forward to the first 700s being outshopped with new cushions to a chorus of complainers that they don't suit 'their' bodies. As has been commented above, a contoured cushion is fine for some but not for others. That will continue the rant noise for another 10 years.
Meanwhile the trains...
