Ah, I haven't been that way in a while but now you say it i do remember! Thanks!
Although I suspect the famously hilly East Yorkshire downs might also not make the fullest use of the 185s power....
Not sure where Northern use 170s apart from trundling around between Leeds and York via Harrogate, where a 6 car 185 (whilst a welcome capacity uplift i'm sure) seems like a very thirsty and over-powered solution (although I don't know the route that well I don't believe it's particularly steep...
Having just caught the train through the Garforths i'm so glad that these stations exist to link the vast distance between them.
I've wondered on my regular commute what the logic was behind them. I assume / glean that big housing growth on the east was (sensibly) linked to improving public...
Ah yes, the secret man-made mill stream that was on all the maps and plans of the station including the map of the arches on the wall in the Brewery Tap pub at the edge of the building site?
What a surprise!
Request stops seem a mad anachronism to me, to be honest. I also can't really see the benefit, apart from the odd train that is 2 or 3 min late being able to make it back to "on time" if it runs through a bunch of them.
But I could be wrong, so let's take a hypothetical simple example - maybe...
Also that image appears to suggest a new, third footbridge in the "middle" of the station by the gateline? Which would be lovely but a) rather expensive and v) would probably take away a solid 50% of the patronage from the kiosks on the current western one, killing their value, so I can imagine...
Sounds like they're doing a study to determine what to do. Although I imagine they will be drawing on a list of already developed options / issues - the ticket office bottleneck being one for sure.
I imagine they're updating things as the new entrance / stairs out the front will presumably have...
For what it's worth, we had a punt at working out what the Forum hivemind would do with a new tunnelled bit in Bradford to link the stations.
We, erm.... struggled.

Leeds station and approach...
Alas, the 0716 from Skipton didn't make it out of the platform this morning. The 0730 is only going to be 3 cars so going to be a cosy old ride down the Airedale this morning.
Is it the on board systems having a strop when coupled together or something?
A few thoughts:
- I can see the value in future-proofing for one. As, if the Southbank really is going to be where a whole load of light industrial is replaced with apartments, shops and offices over the next 30 years then demand is definitely going to go up.
- demand is low currently on the...
Then tell the person who requested it in the app? No need to have two automated and one manual announcement repeat it to a large number of people to whom it is irrelevant just to bulk out the airwaves a little longer?
I completely agree that it must be reassuring - if it is linked to the app...
I got a train from Leeds to York last week.
Auto: "This train will shortly be arriving at York, where this service terminates. When leaving the train please look around to make sure you take all of your belongings with you. If you've booked assistance, our team is already on their way."
Guard...
Aware that we're veering unto speculative territory but is the eventual plan (roughly) that Azumas would do Edinburgh - Newcastle - York - London runs and CAFs do Leeds - London (in general) or will they all be intermixing and intermingled throughout? Or do we just not know that yet?
I have waded through this thread but I appear to have missed, in one place, what's happening to West Yorkshire services. As far as i can tell:
- a 2 minute (?) time saving (I mean - not going to make a difference but sure, thanks)
- more services running through to Bradford Forster Square...
