The Mid Norfolk Railway is 11 miles long for regular services between Wymondham and Dereham (not 9) while there are another 3 miles or so of track open on special occasions up to Worthing.

The MNR still sees occasional military traffic off the main line

And don't forget the Mid Norfolk Railway is also used by Direct Rail Services for servicing their Railhead Treatment Trains at Dereham.

A good example of the benefit of having a main line connection. The Mid Norfolk Railway were able to offer last minute overnight stabling for this 6Z68 working on 3rd August. The text attached to the video explains why.

Well said Scrotnig I do exactly the same. I am a member of at least 4 different railways (some for more than 20 years) and have never used my discount cards. I want these railways to succeed which is why I joined them in the first place!

Not sure if this has already been noted on this thread but I understand the Mid Norfolk have purchased a number of the Greater Anglia Mark 3s that were stored on their line. Do not know their numbers but seems to make sense as they will have had no transport costs to pay as they were already...
