Seems to be an issue on the west coast mainline with a balloon getting caught in the overhead wires somewhere between Runcorn and Crewe - does anyone have the actual location for this and how long does an incident like this take to resolve? quite a few cancelled / delayed trains already.

Well can only comment on the western side as that is what I use but based on that then yes I think the criticism is justified. Use the 07.09 service from Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Oxford Road as an example, this service used to be the 07.05 TPE service to Scarborough and was 9 times...

The 17.16 from oxford road to lime street stops at Sankey currently?? Will it continue to do so? As you say though this service in particular seems to run late and then delay the 17.41 East Midlands service to lime street, in fact quite often the northern service gets looped at glazebrook.

Are the East Midlands services not going to be stopping? Does anyone know how many trains a day will stop at Sankey once west opens?
