Wasn’t either the bus drivers or car drivers fault. Fault with the suspension on enviro 300 type buses meant the rear axle was very loose. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-47407789

The speed limit on the expressway is 50, even though the E300’s can do 63 MPH the company’s speeding policy monitored by green road means the driver won’t be able to get the foot down like they used to

Councillors need to be seen to do something with regards to the X1, so fair play they have had talks with First but everyone knows their minds are made up. Never good to see a route go but in the X1’s case Covid will be the final nail in the coffin. Wonder if a 225 will appear Davington -...

    Bus Enthusiast Etiquette.

I take an interest in buses myself and have done from a youngish age. That inspired me to start driving them and when you start being around the thing that was once a hobby all day long it does spoil it for you. I’ve been driving for first Glasgow for 4 years now and still take a photo of my bus...

    United Coaches, Motherwell

Cowboys isn’t the word, missing out runs, running intentionally late/early to sneak in front of the 254, missing sections of the route out and my pet hate blocking off the stop at Motherwell Station. Don’t hope to see a new registration and with that their presence in Newarthill and Motherwell gone

Typical media spreading crap on the fire in netherton, saying that passengers had to flee the scene. The bus was out of service heading to Overtown for a change of vehicle coming off the 209 run. Luckily the driver and no bystanders were injured. Shame the bus is now nothing but a burnt out shell.

Something management is supposed to be looking at in the near future, I drive the 240 on my backshift week and the time to get from overtown to Glasgow is stupid, luckily I’ve got 25 min layover in Buchanan but to arrive in BBS on time is hard going.

The 18 is timed relatively well from Greenhills to the whirlees, after that it’s too tight to Rutherglen. Considering how many bus stops there is and how busy they all are could do with more time in that section

    Most repainted vehicle

First Glasgow 67856 has been repainted 2 times in a year I think, first it got painted into the new first Glasgow livery and then got painted again into the purple 201 livery and only a few months ago got 201 decals added too.

The first 240 out of town is just as busy as the first 240 heading in which is a seated load usually, the first 255 out of BBS will more than likely get a load of lightbody employees travelling from the city and the parkhead region.

67047 is the bus in question, it’s Blantyre based and yes it looks a lot more fresh. Overtown Enviro 67056 was a away a few weeks ago for repairs following a collision but still retained its Olympia colours.

To be fair the X1 was meant to be pulled a few months ago and first decided to keep it going, they must be losing money for them to pull it. Would still make sense to run it in the morning and afternoons. Even if say a bus started an X1 then turned into an 18/21/ when it gets to Glasgow or...

Can see the x1 staying at peak only hours and the 225 running throughout the middle of the day, but with the rest of the changes going ahead by the looks of it I can see a storm brewing within the company.

The 267 may or may not be getting a timetable reductionthe next round of service changes, so if it does deckers will be required. Just a thought

What's the most tightly timed bus route you can think of?

Tightest I’ve driven with First Glasgow is the SPT tendered 205, bus is never on time and at the terminus in Hamilton it only has 1 minute turnaround time.
