The Labour Party under Andy Burnham

I'm fed up with all of this Labour crap about 'working people'....

GWR changing app/website provider on 24th February

I'm trying to book One Day Travelcards that require a paper ticket for journeys in the London Zones but the new website and App have decided that there is not a ticket machine at our local station (Mortimer) Unless it has been removed since last week, I don't understand why I'm getting this...

GWR changing app/website provider on 24th February

Hopefully the updated app will no longer dump the previously inputted railcards if going 'back' from the timetable and cost options.

    Christmas Workings

Heathrow (along with most other airports) operates relatively normally on 25th December. How on earth do passengers get to the airport?

Great British Railways: Station identity and livery unveiling (09/12/25)

Why waste all of this money on a vanity project like this when the present government is unlikely to be in power for very long?

Deal proposed for Northern Conductors in the North West regarding Sunday working

Really! I find that absolutely astounding and can't understand how and why an organisation that runs 24/7 relies on volunteers on one day of the week. I flew for a major British airline and can't conceive that it would operate on this basis - it would be laughed out of business...

Deal proposed for Northern Conductors in the North West regarding Sunday working

Excuse my ignorance, but why aren't 40 drivers rostered to do the Sunday work? Why is there a reference to volunteers?

    "Ladies and gentlemen"

Another old one - 'If you have been, thank you for listening" at the end.

    "Ladies and gentlemen"

In the airline business, I never used the term 'Ladies & Gentlemen' because I agree with you that it is a bit staid and outdated. I much preferred your first suggestion of 'everyone/everybody' as no-one/nobody is left out...

    ASLEF TfW and ScotRail Offer

But they would most likely work in a business that only 'functions' from Monday to Friday - unlike 24 hour transport businesses like rail, road and air...

    RMT TOC dispute update

ASLEF accept (subject to members agreement) 5% Scotrail Pay Offer

How am I supposed to know what is and isn't real in your world of railways? I'll stick to aviation from now on as I do know quite a bit about that - we used to have to 'negotiate' with ATC on most days...

    Passengers thanking Drivers

I always try to thank the crew if possible. In a previous life, I used to stand and say goodbye to passengers disembarking from the aircraft that I was in command of and the majority of people couldn't be bothered to give much more than a grunt...
