I'm trying to book One Day Travelcards that require a paper ticket for journeys in the London Zones but the new website and App have decided that there is not a ticket machine at our local station (Mortimer) Unless it has been removed since last week, I don't understand why I'm getting this...
Really! I find that absolutely astounding and can't understand how and why an organisation that runs 24/7 relies on volunteers on one day of the week. I flew for a major British airline and can't conceive that it would operate on this basis - it would be laughed out of business...
In the airline business, I never used the term 'Ladies & Gentlemen' because I agree with you that it is a bit staid and outdated. I much preferred your first suggestion of 'everyone/everybody' as no-one/nobody is left out...

I always try to thank the crew if possible. In a previous life, I used to stand and say goodbye to passengers disembarking from the aircraft that I was in command of and the majority of people couldn't be bothered to give much more than a grunt...
