Until last year, Centrebus North served two different places called Syston - one in Lincolnshire, and one in Leicestershire - on two different service 27’s!
They still do serve both, but the Leicestershire one had its service re-numbered to LC5 during 2025.
As someone else has said, this is a workers service for Optimus Point. I’ve travelled on it, and can tell you that every seat was taken - therefore, far from useless or bonkers.
Agreed there, I can’t see that lasting too long on Saturdays if that’s how it is. The bus I was travelling on got stuck more than once because of the way things were parked.
To be honest, they’re not in bad nick internally - I travelled on a couple on the final day of the uni contract, and neither struck me as being in need of refurbishment.
From Monday 24th August, Kinchbus are taking on the 66 between Loughborough and Sutton Bonington - but are only going to be operating peak time journeys, consisting of two return journeys in the morning, and three in the afternoon.

There have been some issues with BODS over the past week - Centrebus North and South lost all their timetables on there for a couple of days until BODS sorted itself out!
A staff member yesterday mentioned that the rota at Derby is full, and that they’re therefore being made redundant if they don’t wish to TUPE over to NCT.
If it’s in the ‘digital realm’ as you refer to it, that means it’s in the NaPTAN database, and that means it’s an official stop which was authorised by a local authority.
That’s the correct answer - through tickets are available between the two, and connections are shown on each others timetables.
Centrebus include a link to the 12 timetable at the top of their 833 page.
The way I deal with this, and the way I’ve always encouraged colleagues to deal with it, is to allow free travel and then ask the traffic office at the earliest opportunity to be shown how to issue the ticket. As this is generally only an issue with things like day tickets, the passenger will...
I’m speculating here, but in theory at least, if the drivers on the hopperbus are assigned primarily to that contract, they probably could transfer over under TUPE if they so desired.
