Aren't stations already left with the barriers open, ticket office closed (e.g London bridge on Sunday nights) due to staff shortages. Surely this will happen more frequently when staff numbers are cut further
I wouldn't rely on it though as you're rather likely to get a puzzled look if you ask to top up your oyster and add a railcard discount at a newsagent!
I believe the pictures sourced from the Every Job matter site were taken before the VIC.
The obvious question is what happens when those 2 ticket offices are gone?! The VIC certainly couldn't cope with the combined demand of 3 ticket offices. Especially as it's opening hours aren't as long...
They did in 2007 on the plans to close 40.

You could visit West Hampstead(LU) ,Finchley Road, Lambeth North or Elephant & Castle's ticket office. Check opening hours before you go of course!
You can't add a railcard discount to an oyster online.

Ironically LU staff at say London Bridge might be forced to send customers to National Rail ticket offices to purchase certain tickets!
There is a chance that LU will backtrack when King's Cross loses the last 2 of it's 3 ticket offices when the ensuing chaos results.
Is the LU Framework agreement legally binding?
Also is it a potential disciplinary if breached and something goes wrong? For example if someone works with say a 10 hour gap between shifts?
The ability to interrogate paper tickets will be virtually lost- useful if someone gets a 51 error and denies using it!
I've heard that each station will still retain a TOM -although it's usage will be strongly discouraged!
Virtually all will be closed by December.
The old Silver link ones will survive for the time being as legal obligations stop them from closing them already (e.g Kensal Green)
