GBRf Class 99 - 30 locomotives now ordered

The 90s were originally designed to haul fast passenger trains. Although there was a sub class which had different gear ratios to haul freight trains. Perhaps if these were brought back into use the trains could be hauled. by one loco. Whereas the 99s were designed to operate freight trains...

    Glasgow Subway New Driverless Trains

Last time I was on a new unit the ride was a bit bumpy too. Think they can alter the suspension by plugging them into a PC. Which may solve the problem Sure the track was part of the process of renewal. Maybe just the suspension needing a bit of upgrade

The Cribbs Causeway problem has been there since Day 1 of the repowers. Most drivers just switch it off. Although that then shows a West Of England software version. It's not really rocket science if you plug it into a laptop you can upgrade the system to a Glasgow version of software.Even E300s...

Some nice new E400evs would be a welcome replacement of the E300s on the rather busy 2s, 3s and 6s. Would make a good start, With the E200evs providing more electric back ups.

Guess the way they look at it is if they spend and repower and get another 10 years out of them, it will be cheaper than buying new. By then they could afford to buy new. It it were me I would just buy new or lease new. The current repowers are not really that much older. Hence the personal...

Read something somewhere that the next repowers would be the low height E400s. This time being done by ADL. Better than nothing, but new E400s would be much more of an expectation.

The majority of closures are for PS Waverley. With an odd ship going on trials from BAE. Perhaps Waverley should consider another base if they are unhappy. If they think the majority of travellers come from Glasgow Area it could easily be solved by using road transport.

If they get caught with an unexpected closure the alternative is to use the tunnel or Erskine Bridge. Not to sit and wait. Happens quite regularly in Europe and it's not a real problem if planned for the Day ahead.

Perhaps Scotstoun should trade the Repowers to Caledonia for some newer or brand new E400 evs for the 77 and 2/3 routes. The Repowers are perfect for Cross City routes. Although could use some usb sockets and some working route indoor displays. Was on one yesterday on a 2 giving away it's...
