I copied the Table 12 turns from an email to the ERG group but believe some extra hauled workings have been reported recently.

Could it have been 56066?
Railgen archive suggests Friday 12th October would be your date ... 47279 is also listed as working on this date, 56066 also active:

According to the special traffic notice, there were two Northampton Clacton charters on that day. Since the power was off in the Northampton/Hanslope Jn area both were scheduled to be diesel hauled Northampton - Bletchley. The electric that worked the ECS from Willesden then took over from...

Yes quite rare beasts down our way ... only one I can recall having was in the summer of 1985 on the 1047 departure from Leighton Buzzard to Coventry.

I guess the original poster was referring to the older Cornish (Leighton) Buzzard who actually resided in Leagrave IIRC.
He didn't mind the odd roarer though the younger "alternative" Buzzard who does actually live (or did) in Leighton Buzzard was a more prolific roarer basher.
