Tangmere SPAD at Wootton Bassett junction 7/3/15

The communication cord has NEVER been able to stop the train, it just provides a 'leak' in the train pipe, on vacuum braked stock it dropped the vacuum to about 15" from the normal 21". This did not (quite) apply the brakes, but would be noticed by the Driver, who would stop as soon as it was...
