    EPR (Europhoenix Rail) - Class 60s - (Ex-ESH / DBI Rail / Land Recovery)

Won't be picking up a loco as those paths are operating to/from the reclaimed ballast site, not the EMD depot. Nothing EPR owned at EMD Longport to pick up anyway.

    EPR (Europhoenix Rail) - Class 60s - (Ex-ESH / DBI Rail / Land Recovery)

Not to be a pedant but it's BR Trainload Freight triple grey, Transrail merely inherited the base livery following the transition from the Trainload Freight sectors to Mainline, Load Haul and Transrail. I think 063 looks great in its new robes, didn't really understand the logic of painting it...

Are our railways haunted? (ghost stories)

Although this thread is from 2005, there's some very interesting stories to be found here: http://www.forteantimes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20879&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 Worth reading is a Signalman's account of spooky goings on in his 'box near Fife, Scotland.

Are our railways haunted? (ghost stories)

Well, Stafford was the location of at least two fatal accidents in the 1990's, although only one person was killed in each incident: "Two accidents have happened at Stafford, both in recent years. In 1990, an out-of-service train heading to a depot in Birmingham crashed into the back of an...

    37087 hauling a measurement train?

One of the mk.3 coaches has been fitted with new object recognition software and presumably has got to accumulate x amount of fault free miles before being re-inserted into the NMT. Yesterday the set worked from Derby to Derby via Burton, Wolverhampton, Hereford and Gloucester. 37087 has now...

Are our railways haunted? (ghost stories)

Just prior to travelling through Rolleston station behind 31454 & 31601 on Wednesday night on the Rail Blue charter back to Lincoln, I made a point of getting a window at the end of the coach, as I'd read some of the stories about this spot. Needless to say, I didn't see anything, but both...

    Your Favourite Top 10 Songs

This was a difficult one. I've tried to be unbiased but was unable to include less than three songs from Duran Duran, because they have so many decent songs to choose from. My favourites, in order, complete with the albums which they came from and the years which they were released: 1)...

Are our railways haunted? (ghost stories)

If I'm dead honest (no pun intended), I hadn't noticed the legs when I made my original posting. You're quite right, it could easily be a long exposure. And besides anything else, Tangmere has never reputed to have been haunted. The only loco rumoured to be haunted, to my knowledge, is DRS...

Because the head of that figure is quite some height about the floor of the cab.

Are our railways haunted? (ghost stories)

Thought I'd get this thread going again. Here's an image which has popped up on the WNXX forum a few times: http://simon71.fotopic.net/p34884903.html Have to say, this s**t me up when I first saw it. Whether it's just the shape of the smoke creating what appears to be a person or whether...

Are our railways haunted? (ghost stories)

Sorry, it's nothing supernatural. Interesting images, thanks for posting them, but I know what this is. Basically you've taken a picture while you've been breathing and the camera's sensor has picked up the "misty" type of stuff that comes out of your mouth when you breathe in cold conditions...

Are our railways haunted? (ghost stories)

Found the following link which might be of interest, although two of the stories aren't true (the Nimbus story and the Talyllyn Ghost Train story) http://www.strangedayz.co.uk/2007/10/ghost-trains-of-great-britain.html The Talyllyn story is a great example of how events can be twisted to...

    Your Photoshopped/paint liveries

Burkitt - wasn't aware that you were a member of this forum, having seen some of your excellent work on the RMweb forums. I sent you a question regarding photoshopping via Fotopic the other day, did you happen to receive it at all? Thanks, Ben.
