Bristol Omnibus, City Line & Badgerline discussion

The red RE back in post 61, TUO262J, was operated by Somerbus. Ran on the Hartcliffe route 80, which was the 565 when it first went out to tender. Originally it was the Hartcliffe Flyer in pre deregulation days operated by the Roe bodied Olympians in blue livery.

    Arriva - license revocation?

Yes she can, if one route is significantly worse than others. Happened to First in Bath several years ago following direct (and illegal) action against Faresaver. First were banned from the route for a period. Except the action was against the First company that held the registration for that...

National Express age profile of coaches

NX get very upset about NX liveried vehicles being used for other work, so contractors tend to have only a small float of spare branded vehicles and a few suitable coaches in white. National Express age profile of coaches

    West Country Independents

The notices about Avon Riders in Paulton were put up by Wessex, bit blunt to say the least but since First stopped selling return tickets Wessex are not actually abliged to accept First Day tickets. All academic as First have registered the evening 178/179 journies commercially anyway...

Megabus routes - where do they go?

Had my first experience of the M18 Bath-London service Saturday, although only travelled as far as Swindon. Both coaches were "Hamilton Gray" (in reality there is no such operator yet and they run on Hamilton of Bow aka Mid Devon discs) Plaxton Panthers, both ex Go Ahead Oxford X90 coaches...

Megabus routes - where do they go?

Going back to DanTrainMan185 a while back, caught the 05.20 ex Cardiff between Bristol and Birmingham back in July on a Sunday morning when megabus operate many hours earlier than XC and it was a Rugby allocated B12BT/Panther. ref JulianW on Victoria-Worcester, definately "Hamilton-Gray" ex...
