Deffo had a fleet of 158s. Around 1998 iirc. I had the grim task of travelling on them regularly... Lasted about one year until hsts took over.

Not sure it has been mentioned so far, Virgin Cross Country operated a small fleet of Class 158s which were on Blackpool to Portsmouth services and then cascaded to other Cross Country routes (when HSTs took over Blackpool-Pompey)

Playing devil's advocate here, people were delayed also when rail staff were on strike and protesting and delaying others, as was my case, all trains cancelled on my route, I do not drive. But these things highlight the fact, puts them on the news. It's what strikes and protests are all about...

Totally concur re The Great Western, Wolverhampton. Great beer and food. The Station, Codsall is fantastic too. Especially worth a visit for their beer festival too.

We actually had nothing to shout about to be fair. Recent take over, great coaching set up, a couple of quality players and it's now a different place!! Been a season ticket holder since 1986 and its the best football I have witnessed there. So I don't mind if I have 'come out of the woodwork' lol
