I'm not sure if Coventry Booking Office would sell you the Stoke to Manchester ticket Chris but I think depending on the date of the university open day getting an advance ticket might be the cheapest option. If you purchased the ticket on the train you would be charged for an anytime ticket...
Got this off a friend in Cumbria who said he couldn't board the train from Whitehaven to Carlisle because he wasn't 16 and in a mobility scooter and had to wait two hours for the next one.
This is just a stupid idea as I can't see the problem with just calling at a few stops between Manchester Victoria and St.Peters Square and just leave the Cenotaph where it is rather than relocate to to another part of Manchester as the St.Peters Square stop will just be more congested with more...
The East Coast quiet coaches in the 225 sets should be moved further down as they arent really quiet with the noisy class 91s infront of them and yes the tables should be banished from the quiet coach
