The workers might win the battle (I.e. no Falkirk to be used as a threat to get Scarborough to play nicely so ADL cough up) but lose the war if ADL go under. Unless something changes, I would imagine the American owners must be weighing up pulling the plug on ADL.. They need volume fleet...

ADL have said plan is to exit Falkirk and keep Larbert for chassis production and Scarborough for body building. If they had been integral ADL products then the chassis at least would be contributing to Scottish jobs.

I presume other than it's number it is no more significant than many of the class. Arguably 60098 is more significant being the 1,000th Brush built loco

I wouldn't get too excited yet, assuming the buyer is DCR (as Boden are doing some of the Class 60 Overhauls for DCR), they maybe for overhaul, alternatively they could be for spares as per 60075 for example.

If it is the same person then he owned 37099 and 37518 as well

I think 60086 was also in part preferred as it was the last loco to work a train on the Remire line where it was originally preserved
