There is a photo of a marker on the bridge are concerned about released by Network Rail, link below.
Thing is that while the river levels have briefly got up to about 90% of the typical maxima, they are not at flooding point and still within what might be expected for typical autumn / winter...
The key moment will be when Plymouth PSB is life expired and the area is resignalled.
That will give a once in a generation chance to do it with incremental rather than hideous costs, even if only part of it is done at the time (eg extending double track through St Budeaux Station, with...
It is odd, the local publically viewable river gauge has below its typical "high" level throughout this closure, and there isn't a single flood alert, let alone warning in North Devon currently.
This, along with the installation of remote monitoring (which is apparently quite recent) does make...
Thanks for this information.
It makes sense that starting a return journey after 04.30 is not allowed, but to have the ticket validity expire half way through the journey is absurd, does that mean if you are due to arrive at 04.25 but the train is running 10 mins late you could get penalty...
Update here.
(Issue was nightshift worker travelling home, tapping in at ~3.30AM being auto tapped out at 4.30 AM then when he actually tapped out on arrival at ~5AM being charged £50 penalty fare for tapping out without tapping in.
Said person now driving mostly but still getting this issue...
It gets to 04.30, assumes you forgot to tap out so inserts an autofill tap out at 04.29 /04.30 at the station you get off.

Even if the bug isn't fixable flagging any journey compelting between 04.30 and 07.00 with no touch in for internal review ought to be do-able. As should breifing the call centre staff that there is a problem so don't assume someone tapping out at that time with a journey shown as no tap in is...
Dosen't matter who wins the next election. Within a year or three the IMF will be dictating terms and we will lucky to escape widespread closures and real terms pay cuts for those who retain their jobs.
In 2022-23 the interest on the UK national debt was £112 billion. That is more than defence...
In the work from home/flexible working era this occasional one day striking and overtime ban is a waste of time. The only thing that might work is an indefinite all out but ASLEF wont do that as they know it wouldn't be supported solidly for more than a few days.
High speed broadband...
Correct. Having now driven in, much prefers this (at least in good weather) and the journey home is actually quicker (even with 20mph limits on the Finchley Road) than the all stations including Kentish Town overnight train.
After a further lengthy phone call on Friday, got a reply today that...
