In the photos the OP shares, the swoosh works, as it's attached to a 158 (with a swoosh in the other direction). Does make you wonder why Northern don't couple their 153s small cab to small cab (from what I've seen) it does look a bit odd, swooshes or otherwise
West Midlands railway (and previously London Midland) used to do this on the Snow Hill line. Report it, there’s absolutely no excuse for departing early
The ex-Stourbridges already called at Old Hill etc. The Kidderminster terminators used to call at these stations, it changed a couple of years ago when the Worcesters began to avoid Hagley & Blakedown
I take it you’re not familiar with workings in the West Midlands? Various Chase line diagrams are worked by 170+153, there’s a 170+153 on both Hereford - Birmingham and Snow Hill lines
I strongly disagree there. Smethwick Galton Bridge serves as an interchange station, I’m such passengers would much rather change there than go all the way to Moor Street/Snow Hill and walk to New St for connections. Blakedown passengers have already lost their direct service to Worcester, why...
I'm off to Manchester, then Wigan tomorrow to do some spotting/photographing. I will be travelling from Manchester Piccadilly/Victoria to Wigan Wallgate and back. I really want to get a Class 150 either on the way there or back, has anyone have any Class 150 diagrams for this line
