I beg to differ on many of the comments here. The units were pushed back in to service with a multitude of deficiencies after their 'improvement' works. From missing panels to poorly affixed panels, missing door stops, thin paint application to name but three. PRM requirements dictated entire...
There are many issues with the quality of finish on 323s that returned from Wolverton which I am surprised weren't flagged on their handover to Northern. Every single unit has issues which should've been picked up by whoever signed them off as complete.
Based on a cursory glance the entirety of the ticket office and waiting room has been dismantled leaving a void between The Hub facility and the portion of station building immediately adjacent to the 2 platform based ticket vending machines. The appearance is akin to a wartime bomb damaged...
It is unfortunate there wasn't a plan to create further 150/3 beyond the 4 recently done. In the Central region of Northern operations there are a fair number of platforms which 4 car units run on yet are too long to be fully accommodated officially so are subject to Long Train Short Platform...
Untidy choice I'd say picking 150147 and 150224 on the basis they both are North Western Trains refurbished units with Chapman seats. Seemingly one of the
units forming the 150/3's will have coaches either end with Ashbourne seats and a mid-coach with Chapmans.
Not so, this was discontinued several years ago by order of the station management. Any revenue checks done there are merely ad-hoc. The only manual checks done are between platforms 8 and 11, so the over bridge offers access to all platforms for interchange purposes without the need to re-pass...
The purpose of the cameras is nothing sinister. The machines much like those on South Western Railway are capable of working with the aid of a remote operator who can assist passengers during ticket purchasing and information provision. As such the cameras are there for that purpose only...

323223 is still running around in its previous unrefurbished state so I'm guessing it's another 323 being referred to making a journey from Wolverton to Allerton.
The only paint any of 323223-323239 have seen since their initial GMPTE as delivered colours has been yellow warning ends, external window frames on all bodyside windows. Both First North Western's and Serco-abellio Northern's actual liveries were applied in vinyl wrap as opposed to paint. Edit...
Having been directly involved in these particular units for more than 15 years I can categorically confirm they have been maximum top permitted speed of 90mph throughout. As is to be expected they are capable of considerably higher speed though.
I'm of the understanding that the Northern Connect franchise specification customer information screens and electronic seat reservation will be added/made to work in the near future. The LED screens shown will simply have been to make the unit ready for service, after all we are all too aware of...
If the Northern branding is larger than standard I'd imagine it'd be one of the details that'd be rectified on acceptance by the operator. From the images two other differences stand out from the current standard, that being the coloured n 'bubbles' are those of the former colour palette, not...
