The 0543 from Swansea has been a 150 all this week, and cancelled outright once. The connection to the MkIV stock at Cardiff central looks very tight, changing from 3 or 0 to 1. Any ideas if the MkIV is held for the connection, or when this will go back to being a MkIV throughout?
Onboard, unsurprisingly quiet from Swansea but now more than half full in first, about 15 breakfasts have been served and paid for by Ludlow.

Hope you had a good journey. Just how busy was it in Swansea in First Class? I have always wondered if anyone would bother given there is no 'free' drinks and snacks until at least Newport.

Three got into first class at Swansea, I didn’t pay much attention at intermediate stations, and about 15 at Cardiff. Busy enough I shared my table for two.

Good to hear that someone is using first class.

Back to attempting first class on 1W11 tomorrow, but coming back standard on a 197 as 18:30 was too early for the last one south. £4 more than standard northbound makes first class an easy choice really.

Fingers crossed, thank you
Good luck

1W11 was turned at Wilmslow just over 20L on Tuesday morning. That is unusual for the Mk4 sets because they normally do try to get them to Manchester. I found it much more likely a Mk4 will arrive into Piccadilly at xx33 to form the xx30 than a 197. Before Tuesday, I have never been turfed off at Wilmslow on a Mk4.

Crewe yes, and Shrewsbury yes, but those were both because of issues with the actual Mk4 set rather than the delay.

It’s on its way to Piccadilly now so all good.

@Amaranthe, W57 has left Newport 37L, but is running fast NWP-HFD + HFD-SHR, so it should make up enough time to allow V46 to start at Manchester. :)

Good luck

Left Manchester just 10L which I have to say is pretty impressive all things considered. I’m only going as far as Shrewsbury so not sure if I’ll have time for food though.
