Bumped into @js517 with his young son at Hebden Bridge station this morning....and then we all travelled on TPE's 1P69 towards Leeds.

Incidentally, on the above train I travelled on @185143....but didn't see its namesake on board! ;)

You'd have had a job seeing me onboard given I'm currently in Ireland! :D

I was with some forum members in the Lucas Arms today when @Hadders came in!

As it happens we will be going to the same event later today so we may meet a second time.

After seeing @Hadders unexpectedly at Lucas Arms yesterday, I saw @D6130 unexpectedly in the lounge at King's Cross today!

@D6130 is getting around as I saw them earlier on a train between Banbury and Marylebone.

It almost feels like cheating considering where we were but @Mike395 and I bumped into @43094 at the Heaton Depot open day as we were all on the 125 Group/BLS railtour that visited the open day.

Definitely not cheating…

I copped @Class172 in The Beer Engine (Newton St Cyres) tonight! :)

This thread is for when you see a forum member unexpectedly and randomly.

It doesn't necessarily have to be an unexpected place, but the encounter should be unexpected. However please be reasonably sure the person is actually a forum member!
Nothing in this post states that the unexpected and random encounter has to be in a physical, real-world location! Right?

I encountered @TT-ONR-NRN at the top of my TikTok feed this evening  (albeit not entirely unexpected with the number of train ’memes’ that I bookmark).

How interesting, as I was out filming an advert for TikTok today.

Last week I unexpectedly met a forum member at a football game, who did various forum events, including walks, meals etc about 10 years ago, though I had seen him more recently on trains he was working since then. I won't say his username because I don't want to divulge too much but good to see he has now made it as a driver.

It can be quite a surprise to see people completely unexpectedly out of context! It's surprising enough when seeing people at stations or on trains, but even more so in completely unrelated settings.

Not sure if he's a forum member, but I met "@geofftech" on the first day of Class 710 operation back in 2019. And again today on the first day of Class 810 operation. If there is ever a class 910, or 610, maybe we'll meet again

It has been alleged that the Class 455s were, at one point, to be known as Class 510. You’ll have to keep an eye out for him at Waterloo or Guildford this Sunday!

After missing a connection at Paddington last weekend and having to then loiter around, I waved a brief hello to @ainsworth74 and @yorkie as they passed through the station.

You go for months without being featured and then twice in almost as many days! Today I bumped into @Segedunum on a train from Darlington heading south.

@KT550 - were you one of the three blokes I was talking to at Harrow and Wealdstone while waiting for 730 206 + 730 236 on the 12.53 this afternoon? I recall one of them saying they were going after 701 002 afterwards...
