I done a speculative application in January after a careers event last year, I then passed the aon assessment last month. I haven’t applied for a specific depot, but I had put my local one. Assuming this now means I’ll just go into the talent bank? The Last email just said they will contact me with the next steps.
Can you give me some information on what the AON tests involve please.

Thanks.

Yea I was half expecting it too, obviously had thousands of applicants again.

What I didn’t realise was you could have applied for more than one area, I could have done another area that is commutable but just went for the closest/ most logical.

Good luck
What was the format ?

Probably nothing you've not seen before, logic reasoning etc, but I feel a couple of parts of it is open to AI abuse.

You sign a bit saying you wont do that obviously, and personally I wouldn't, I'm a big believer in karma you see, and I get what I earn.

But a minority will game the system and unfortunately it will give them unfair advantage.

I do understand an extra stage with how many people apply and this is just my musings, I offer no solutions!

Yea same, didn't think I done bad, none wrong on the concentration and got far into it. It is what it is, hopefully the LNER one starts some movement again soon.

Got mine to say I was successful also! Felt I could’ve done better in the tests so I’m delighted. Sorry to hear about those who were unsuccessful. Anyone know what the next steps are?

Unsuccessful for me to. Email says I can reapply whenever positions open up again so hopefully some come up soon for different areas. I also applied for different job with the company in March which is still under consideration so here’s hoping. Good luck to everyone who passed.

Successful for Waverley! I thought those tests were tough - they are similar to some pilot tests. I think it probably is a better way to shortlist than some other TOCs do, at least they take the time to go through everyone’s scores unlike others…

Congratulations to all who have had good news and sympathy to anyone who hasn't had the result they were hoping for. At least things seem to be starting to move again!

Has anyone had any joy getting a reply from recruitment? emailed them nearly three weeks ago notifying them of a change of address and to query something else, still no reply.

I also expected to have gotten the 6 month email, assumed it would be from when you sat the last stage rather than from when you were placed in the talent bank.

I sent an email 1 week ago and I have had no reply yet. I have also sent 3 previous emails since Feb 2026, when the talent bank first came to light, and I have not had a reply from any of them.

Hi there, just wanted to ask about the working hours if any exisiting drivers from Glasgow depots could shed some insight.

What's the typical working pattern like in terms of working hours and shift patterns?
i.e. week 1, 2 and so forth.

Are there also any scheduled/mandatory breaks?

Thanks
