1V66 is already 25 late. How many people ending up suffering?

Does anyone have CAFs phone number?

Maybe plaid will change things and actually focus on suitable stock so that at least when one unit fails you get a short form.

I wonder if they will shunt the 20;30 Manchester - Cardiff into platform 7 or 8 to get it out of the way whilst it waits for the loco hauled set to arrive

I am watching Crewe. There’s a tfw in 8 but that’s ECS to Crewe CS

The 21:30 to Shrewsbury already passed us. There’s a 22:38

Really hope someone can do something to make the connection to the last shrewsbury to south wales work.

Be a fair bit of holding though

As the delay became too much for holding V66, all being well the 2130 from Manchester will be held at Crewe and that will then form the last Cardiff service from Shrewsbury.
That swap is now in RTT.

A couple of photos at Stockport. Ironically I only boarded that train at Manchester to see a friend at Stockport.

Although the experience with the mk4 wasn’t the best, have to give credit to TfW for making sure everyone got to South Wales.

Sorry to all those who would have been on HD02 going north this morning. Another day where a canton start is substituted.

Next week will be better for the Mk4. I have a week of not going to Manchester

Are the Mk4s likely to have the full Restaurant services available tomorrow despite it being Saturday? I've read earlier in this thread it can be quite hit and miss on Saturdays. Thanks.

Is the First Class carriage on the TFW MK4s at a particular end of the train- next to the DVT or locomotive or does it vary?

They are always the same formation with 1st being Coach B.
From the DVT its the second passenger vehicle.
All diagrams are covered tomorrow but cant help with the catering side in the other post Im afraid.

Always 1 carriage in from the DVT

It is Loco - useful - useful - half useful without sockets - vanity - useful - DVT.

They have to do that because of short platforms.

Good thing is you can pick up vanity on a peak train like the 18:30 from Manchester for £4 more than standard and get 4 seats to yourself.

I'm currently on today's 10:30 Manchester Piccadilly to Cardiff Central. Extremely good Breakfast.

Are there many ordering the food? Is it busy?

On 1V62 on Thursday some on expenses were ordering food. Of course, the issues prevented any service. Despite taking many sets (and discounting 1W11 as that does not have a chef) I still have not seen what TfW Mk4 food looks like.

Yes, First Class has been more than 50% full throughout from Manchester, with almost all tables occupied.

I'd guess maybe 5-10 people have ordered food although I haven't been paying attention to be honest.

That is good if people travel in groups at the weekend.

1V62 was very much 1 person per table (but almost all tables occupied) and that is usually what I see on 1W11. At that, occupancy is about 35% (4 tables at 25%, 2 tables at 50%)

I have a standard class ticket booked on the 1110 Crewe to Newport on Friday morning to experience some class 67 haulage/shovage on my roundabout journey to Torquay.

Does anyone know if its possible to get a full breakfast on this train please - I have heard that they are really good!

Given this is the very train I used on Saturday from Manchester Piccadilly to Newport, I can happily confirm as per earlier posts in this thread that I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. My order for Breakfast was taken just before we arrived at Crewe but the Hostess also offered people joining at Crewe and later Stations the opportunity to order food. She also stated to people already onboard from Manchester that they didn't have to eat straight away and that they could have their order taken for Breakfast later on in the journey.

Of course sadly if there are any train substitutions and it isn't a locomotive hauled train you're out of luck.
