Because we’re based out of Bletchley depot it’s split between Northampton and Bletchley after the initial induction I’m not sure if there might be some simulator days in Birmingham but when we’ve done the induction and find out some more about the structure of the course I’ll put a message in here

Can anyone offer any advice on what a 'typical' rota pattern might look like for a driver stationed out of New St/Snow Hill. Trying to understand the split or earlies/lates/mid turns etc.

Was hoping some of you could share some insight on how the process goes after stage 2. I passed stage 2 at the beginning of april and got the email saying I'm on the list for interview. They say they might not happen for a while, but they'll be in touch.

Anyone that has done their DMI, how long did you wait between Stage 2, and what was the process for booking your interview like?

It was exactly a week for me, found out I passed March 2nd and got the invite on the 9th. To actually book the interview same portal type thing as booking the assessments.

Hiya I think if I remember correctly when I found out I passed my stage 2 I got an DMI invite about 4 days later. I booked the interview for 2 weeks later. Then when I did the DMI I found out I passed 2 hours later. Have my medical booked in now for Tuesday

So today I finally received my DMI invite for COV, chuffed to finally have a date set but really quite nervous about it, I no once I get in the room I should be fine, it’s just thinking about what to revise? I have been hammering WMT revision since my Stage 2 but it’s all pretty much the same knowledge.
What else can I revise, has anybody passed COV and knows what questions they will ask me? Good luck to anyone else going for it in the next few weeks

Also when I was doing my STAGE 2 there was a lovely gent from Worcester I think, who had to re sit his whole computer tests after making it make a loud noise during the tests lol don’t think I could re do that attention one straight after , didn’t get chance to speak to you after the MMI as mine seemed to go on for hours, hope your in here and hope you passed and hope you have your interview soon


Also my first time posting but can not emphasise enough how helpful you guys and this forum in general honestly helped me so much!

Probably not something people want me to recommend but I brought the tests for about £130 for stage 2 and they are almost identical to the tests on the day so if anyone is worried about there stage 2 and has a few spare bob they are worth it in my opinion!

Congrats getting this far. You’ve got 3 killer questions about the company, the role and why you want the job. Then around 10 questions on customer focus, handling pressure, flexibility, following rules, safety etc etc. Draw on your experience, even if you’re examples are loose find a way to make it all relevant to the role. The managers and HR are sound so will be a nice conversation if you present yourself properly. Don’t let nerves beat you. Hopefully see you in Cov soon, good luck.

Congratulations! I had mine at Medigold today, passed everything and clinician was very happy. Only thing left is the ECG has been sent for Doctor review (So no answer on the day), high BMI may be flagged by the doctor but hoping that because the Clinician was happy should be set now! Hopefully find out in a couple of days.

Hi was good meeting you on test day. Was so stressful I had to repeat that test again but passed everything and had my interview last week and have been offered a place on the training which I can’t wait for.

I have had to hold off though as my wife is having a baby and didn’t want to take the time out of the training which was offered as it would be right in the middle so now got to wait until more dates are released.

Good luck for your interview. Would suggest researching the company and the role and why you want the role and what experience you have which would translate into the role

New here and just booked onto OPC stage 1 for WMT in Birmingham for June. Any tips, anywhere I can find some tests to get practicing? I'd rather not wait until 7-10 days before for the company to send things and then overthink. I'd rather do little bits here and there to build up. I completely hate tests always did at school but decided to take a plunge to a very different role and give it a go. I do have a few years of varied rail experience so know the industry.

That’s exactly how mine went, applied in December was told in Feb it’s on hold then did my OPC sift last week. Got the email to book in today and chose the Monday morning.

Hi, applied for Crewe depot and pleased to say I've been invited to the stage 1 OPC test. Email said they will send practise materials separately but still haven't recieved them, how long does it normally take to get the practise materials?

They can be very slow, then all of a sudden your given a date and have to reply and confirm very quickly.. I missed the first email then had to wait a couple more weeks for a slot. Got there in the end though!
There is lots of practice you can start before hand and loads of useful sites, I recommend searching for the next stop train driver, has every thing youu need, I used the interview coach tool and helped me so much with my DMI.
