Good to see that there is an intention to continue the current plans by Plaid, but there's nothing new being stated there.

Is the Swansea Bay Metro a current plan? Good if so, but I had not realised it had gone beyond Swansea Council making noise.

Well it's still not new. TfW have been putting out visions and plans of this sort of stuff for a while and even before then Prof Mark Barry did. They've in my opinion done the pretty easy thing of saying oh yeah we'll do all these things that are already proposed. Rather than actually proposing anything drastically new.

Not to say many of these are bad ideas but I would have thought they'd have a few original ideas.

But still a lot better than Labour have done? In that regard it is a new thing?

I do not support either, but would like to see some further investment on the Swansea side (for obvious reasons).

There is a danger that we will have a Plaid first minister and so there is a chance that they will actually be held accountable this time around.

From a rail point of view, there isn't exactly a mainstream party that's proposing anything more for rail in Wales. So it's either this or even less in that respect. No party is being particularly ambitious but it is what it is - rail hasn't been something with which you can score a lot of political points.

To be fair, it is the M4 that I am pleased is back into the debate. Though I really really do not want a Reform win.

Rail-wise, anything that involves electricity getting closer to Swansea is very welcome. I just did not know we had a consensus on that (and yet no action). If we got wires and were then able to sustain 2tph for the Swanline that would be a major step up, never mind any of these other lines.

Electrification should help particularly between Cardiff and port Talbot. The .Maesteg line needs the loop at Tondu sorted but that needs expanding to include a loop between lynfi junction and wildmill to stop trains blocking the mainline whilst awaiting a late service from Maesteg

Swanline should be 1tph plus dont forget the Vale of Glamorgan Council pushing that parkway station at Miskin. They need that new road from jct34 through to sycamore cross to link to the a48 and 5 mile lane offering easy link between the m4 and Cardiff airport.

Local villages should remember this new road will reduce the amount of traffic rat running through them. I.hated driving the 320 bus service for that reason
