I know that these are London based scenes, but I can see plenty of similarities in Manchester this morning. I did not bring my yacht though and havent opened a bar on a barge. Am I standing half-naked reading? Let's just say I am using my laptop at this moment.

The problem at the moment is that Gemini is saying "too many image requests, try again later" and has been doing since yesterday evening. Hopefully not going to keep happening as it will be very bad news for this thread if so.

In a side-conversation.with me, Topological noted that post 1170's station conga has a similarity with this linked Santa pub crawl.
Yes, I admit it - there was always an excuse for a pub crawl..

55 001 (St Paddy - geddit!) - my memories of St Patrick's Day in London; from a classy celebration to raucous revelry. With barely an Irish person amongst them all. I wonder if the DLR livery will last longer than their hangovers.

The shirtless chap in the Docklands scene, is catching up on a bit of the sun. Well, catching up on sports pages in The Sun.
The conga scene's station looks nothing at all like Baker Street - perhaps it's tbetween Finchley Road and Harrow, although the Jubilee and Met trains are running on each other's tracks.

@Ashley Hill - Lee Majors had a 1970s reputation as a ladies' man - but is the attached photo your mastery or Gemini's? 8-)
And that person with a mask, exiting the ladies. Says it all. :D
Aha! The return of Wonder Woman....albeit only in poster form! ;)

I borrowed the Barnstaple picture from Google. The Lee Majors image was created by AI, and the man in the mask is actually exiting the gents but seems less funny.
Clearly there is benefits to be had when second place in a conga line

CrossCountry are in on the St Patrick's day wraps. A special Guiness harp for first class. I assume the armadillo is hiding from the smell of the voyager.

Has Mr Bean here opted to express disgust at the blatant mixing of scales in the display layout? He is proving himself to be an expert in securing effectively priced produce and no doubt has strong opinions on the interior planning of model railway shops.

It is also possible he has observed that Wonder Woman is focusing her models on the western region. Although she makes pasties, and the Cornish connection to GWR should have been clear, I suspect in Mr Bean's mind her layout was more focused on the various junctions and terminii of Leeds (he credits her with having the room to build all of the Leeds stations and the junctions within a giant room). There is an understandable shock that she would not be sitting at home with her controller announcing confidently that the train on platform 8 would be for Osset.

At least the guy who is staffing the shop is proving that model railways are cool.

Meanwhile. In honour of National Supreme Sacrifice Day in the states. This group have swapped their Pendolino for a Pacer. This image is from 2019 and hence the ticket was only £319.

The two nearest to the screen have put their shoes under their seat. I cannot recommend that and you know that they are not regular pacer users.

Good to see the girl back again! Is that by any chance @Iskra behind the counter in the model railway shop? After all, IIRC, his Scottish-based layout is called 'Fort George'.
I thought you'd like to see Ms Carter not only runs a bakery (fine buns and pasties) but has also taken a keen interest in modelling.
As to the shop owner - I'll await a forum member's response. ;)

I feel like you are upselling Ms Carter's buns.

The sign makes no reference to how fine they are ;)

In bakery, there's nothing like a Major competitor.
As John said, competition is what will drive efficiency and ensure a bakery system fit for the 21st century.

At least I think that was what he was going on about. I was still being made to wear matching shellsuits when he was determining policy.

Disclaimer: I did not actually get forced to wear matching shellsuits in the early 1990s. My shellsuits as a child were cool. Check out the other AI thread.

Thanks for running such a fine modellers' paradise (is it true Hattons closed due to your shop's success? ;) ).
Well, with a shop assistant like that on my side it was only going to end one way ;)

Although it does look like green loco’s aren’t too popular :D

What if the end of the "What If?" theme was extended due to leaves on the calendar?

In this image, I ask "What if major terminals were not barriered?"

You've Bean had, mate - well, that advert did say it's a "one-of-a-kind Freightliner class 66".
Should've gone to Fort George Models instead.

An alternate dress-code! "We're all wearing suits" translates to Wirral-wearing suits. Shellsuits.
All your scene lacks, is the sprinting shoplifters.

Some people give the Wirral a bad name. Over in Posh Scouseland we catch a lull between trains:

Gemini_Generated_Image_25r11b25r11b25r1.png

Although Gemini has decided to call the station Bidston, it is more like a stop on the Chester line. There is a slight "What if?" when you realise that there are two electrified tracks to the right. We may imagine that a new Chester to Birkenhead pair of fasts has been installed, together with electification from Crewe to Chester. I hope that the name of the station will not cause too much confusion with the realism as I do think the actual station is very good.

What sort of service do you get in 7th class? The seats look reasonably like standard class.

They have at least helpfully denoted 7th Class with an amber swoosh. That is better than trying to find another stripe colour to augment 1st in yellow, the restaurant in red and presumably some of 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class.

Is the 14:48 part of a half-hourly plan but terminating short?

I did a bit of research and found an image of the inside of the 7th class carriage. It turns out that was a gold swoosh on the outside.

If someone has been in a 7th class Mark 3 and can tell me this is not realistic then fair play, but if no one has been in then I am having it as perfectly legitimate.

Transport for Wales will be introducing these on the Marches in 2028.

Looks like they're all returning from a very exclusive auction with their purchases. The aesthetic is rather 'modern White House'.
