Thanks, the last time I looked it hadn't been updated hence why i mentioned confirmation or rumours. Amazed at the 211 as North Lodge is already served by an SPT service, I assume it will be the same route as the 202 as Calderbank and Cairnhill schemes are bad for parked cars so a small bus would be needed (ex Cornwall stock?), I agree operating via Chapelhall would maybe have made more sense but then that would be competing with another operator unconnected to any of this.
The 291/293 I do like the look of and reminds me a bit of the old Coakley 153/155 circular.

The odd situation is Chaplehall is 6X the size of Calderbank, yet it's calderbank that has the better bus service. Maybe once the new East Airdrie Link Road and Monklands Hospital is built something might change.

Hopefully the CityLink 902 will eventually have a frequency increase.

I'm guessing the new 209 will be every 30 mins Mon-Sat daytime to match the JMB 5 (the Craig's 209 was subsidised and withdrawn by SPT last year), with the 242 being reduced from 20 to 30 mins but combined with the 209 between Motherwell and New Stevenson.

Now that the MMCs and Optare Solos have moved to Glasgow, will the solos be pushed into service without being repainted? They could even do what Stagecoach Carlisle did with an ex Yorkshire Gold MMC where they just debranded it but kept it in gold

Going by what happened with the first batch of Solos, the Kernow arrivals will most likely be repainted before entering service, not because it's a requirement for them to be painted, but because they are all going to need a visit to the RRC anyway to have vaults and screens fitted.

It took a good couple of months for the first batch of Solos to enter service based on these steps, so you can expect the same again for this batch as well. The MMCs I imagine will get priority.

That’s a bit disappointing to hear as i would of liked to photograph the GWR and Ex Midland Bluebird Solo as they’re unique. But i appreciate your answer anyway. Yes i think the MMCs will get priority as they’re needed for the services starting in April

I’d hope the buses are repainted and re-trimmed before entering service. Glasgow are normally good at prepping before entering service however given how short they are for deckers and the sheer bulk of what’s come up they may not have time. I imagine the deckers will enter service eventually as is once assault screens and vaults are fitted.

I wonder if they'll take the tables out of the Cornwall MMCs on the upper deck, They have partitions instead of a middle seat at the back on both decks, bit like the Newpowers

There are already 13 buses per hour between Bellshill & Motherwell Monday to Friday. I’m really not sure there’s a market for First to be adding another half hourly service at a higher fare.

My estimation is:

First 240 - 5 or 6 buses per hour
First 201 - 4 bph

JMB 5 - 2 bph on an indirect route.

Miscounted the First routes, due to the uneven AI frequencies. There will be a bus every 15 minutes between Hattonrigg & Motherwell, which I’m still not sure there is demand for.

Just had a look at some of the new First Lanarkshire timetables on Traveline and this is my review and as it’s only timetables available at this moment, some of the routing may appear to be rather vague:

Service 209

Bellshill (Hattonrigg) - Bellshill Cross - Mossend - New Stevenston - Motherwell

M-F & Sat 0700-1800 approx - Every 30 mins

Service 211

Thrashbush - Airdrie - Cairnhill - Calderbank - Maxim - Holytown - New Stevenston - Motherwell - North Lodge - Hamilton - Eddlewood

M-F & Sat 0600-1930 approx - Hourly

Service 243

North Motherwell - Motherwell - Craigneuk - Wishaw - Waterloo - Carluke - Braidwood - Lanark

M-F 0500-2200 approx - Every 15 mins
Sat 0500-2200 approx - Every 20 mins
Sun 0700-2000 approx - Hourly

Services 291 & 293 (Clockwise / Anticlockwise)

Cleland - Coltness - Wishaw - WGH - Netherton - Motherwell - Carfin - Newarthill - Cleland
