Hey guys,
It’s been ages and I haven’t really heard anything from this thread. Just wanted to check how everyone’s getting on — has anyone had any updates or news yet? Still waiting on my side as well.

Reed being completed on my side but the vetting process is still ongoing already 12 weeks

Don’t forgot you had the Xmas break in between which will slow things down. Patience is a virtue.

Yeah, I understand that completely. I’m already 12 weeks into the NPPV2 vetting myself and still waiting, and from what I’ve been told it can easily go up to 6 months or even longer.
That’s what makes it more frustrating really from application to now it’s been around a year and four months already for me. Just a waiting game at this stage, I guess.

Yeah, that’s the frustrating part really seeing the same role being advertised now with higher pay while some of us have already been waiting months to start. I’ve been in the process over a year and still waiting on vetting, so it’s hard knowing new starters might come in on better money. Hopefully TfL will honour the updated salary for everyone who’s already in the pipeline.

Everyone in the grade will get the same salary regardless of when they applied; there is no chance that candidates who applied in subsequent campaigns will be paid different rates.

The increased salary merely represents the annual pay increase brought in last April.

Ive been in the process since April 2024, still waiting to start. It might be the intake isnt meeting tfls numbers so they put recruitment on hold.

Same here I’ve been in the process since last year too and still waiting on a start date. If there’s any chance to start sooner on nights, I’d be happy to do nights as well at this point just keen to get started.

Oh thank you for clarifying this, i had no idea. I just assumed that since it was a diff campaign that the salary would also be diff. If this is the case then great-however by the time we start it might have gone up again .

That is good..On my side Reed says on website checks completed but i havenot heard from tfl yet....Also how long after Reed you got Medicalinvite...
Hi Ahsan, you can contact TfL and request a medical so that when the vetting is done you’re then not waiting around. That’s what I did. Contact the TfL onboarding team.

Wow! since 2024, that’s nearly 2 years. Hopefully you’ll get a start date soon.

I haven't bothered applying for this role as it's very frustrating TFL are requiring NPPV in this role which has 3 yearly renewals.

I applied to be a Met Police Officer and got through all the way to the end till vetting and got refused as a couple of my (declared and practically zero association) had historic criminal records. Even if they did pass my vetting there's every chance that at vetting renewal they no longer find the risk acceptable etc and that's your job gone.

Like the job posting says if for any reason you are unable to maintain your vetting status, your employment will be terminated, which would also potentially cause problems rejoining TFL in the future as you'd have to disclose this on every subsequent application even though your vetting might be refused because of a family member you have zero connection with having or getting a criminal record.

(Edit:

I have also seen it states "You should also be aware that the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 does not apply to police vetting, this means that any criminal history or civil conviction history will be considered by the MPS in reaching a decision." This should not be the case as the vetting APP clearly states that the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 does apply for non police officer vetting such as NPPV (this wouldn't have affected my vetting but its worth mentioning.) So even TFL haven't got a clue about what the vetting is.

I did my assessment, and they told me on the day I passed for some reason . Still waiting for confirmation. I applied for ops (nights) there was no fitness test during the assessment

Hey Min,
Yeah I did mine at Stratford about a month ago. It was pretty straightforward – just go in, give your name to the people at reception and they’ll ask you to wait until someone comes to get you. Everyone there was really nice and professional.

I passed my assessment and they’ve already submitted my onboarding and vetting stuff, so I’m just waiting for the clearance now. Not sure if you’re going for your interview or assessment, but it’s all a smooth process. Good luck !
They made me fill out a paper for the vetting on the assessment day. Did you have to do that?

Hi, could anyone tell me the process for the vetting like what does the application ask me to fill out, is it just family and address things or do they also ask for financial information ?

Everything siblings financial and social media accounts, you just need to be honest and provide as much information as you can
