My application also went to the hiring manager. I expect this is where the slow agonising waits start to kick in, but it's typical of railway recruitment. If I'm not mistaken though TPE do all their assessments in one day, so thankfully there won't be too many waits for emailing OPC assessment results. You'll go there on the day and hope you don't get sent home early. I could be wrong about that though.

They do both 1 and 2 day psychometric assessments.
The December 24 recruitment was a one day cycle with everyone doing paper, computer and MMI on the same day whilst the June 25 cycle had the psychometrics spread over 2 days.

The job advert for this says it two days as well
Hi All does any know if there is a way that you can find out how many you got right and completed. As is has focused on completing them correctly and quickly to see how many I did

It seems the number of assessment days vary then, because I'd previously heard of them doing it all in one day. I suppose it just depends on OPC availability or other factors we're not privy to.
Generally there is no way to find out your marks on psychometrics in order to protect the integrity of the testing process. You might be able to hazard a guess on whether you pass based on what other people might say about their own results, but the only thing you can really count on eventually knowing is whether you have passed or failed.

What I can say is in the last round of recruitment the assessment dates were half a day so they must be split into to (9-12 or 1-5 off the top of my head)
I remember it being similar with Avanti. They had stage 1 tests in the morning and evening at Crewe (I was in the morning group) though I'm not sure how it worked with stage 2. Elsewhere for TPE, I once heard that stage 1 took place in the morning session and those who didn't make the grade were sent home while those who did moved on to stage 2, but by the sounds of it that's not really the case. No matter, I'll just focus on those moments when they come.

Wow that’s an intense day doing them both!
Hopefully I’m the bearer of good news with that because I suppose if you book the afternoon session there won’t be time to do stage 2

As it’s for the talent pool and they mentioned 2027 I can’t see them being in a rush but I stand to be corrected

They might want to get it done within a few months so they can start filling out courses. That said 2027 could very well mean December for all we know. It's really just a question as to whether we'll get it before GTA VI.

True, the only certainty is that it will be an agonising wait. But it's one that will be worth it either way.

Loaded up the manifest assessment last night, and I think I absolutely smashed it this time around! I could be horrifically wrong lol but I'm just curious as to how many others felt like it went well and we're able to manage most of the questions?
Yep, seemed pretty straightfoward to me too, think I got to the 35-38 range. Doesn't help that I did the 1st part of the application one day, came down with covid overnight, then had to do the test whilst feeling like death warmed up, so hoping it still scored ok!
Something I've wondered lately. I went through the process with Avanti back in 2022/2023, and any test I passed for them would be valid for five years. However I've heard TPE only have three-year validity, so I assume that I'd be expected to sit any shared tests over again and not just the one I failed since it's been over that length of time?
It's 3 years this January for me since I took the stage 1 tests, so I've been thinking the same tbh. If I get past the sift and get asked to do the OPC assessments again I am thinking of just declining. It seems so daft to have a 5 year validity period, for then companies to dictate how long they see them valid for. I'm pretty sure TFW were 1 year up until last year...
It's not ideal to have to sit them again, especially if you have the anxiety of failing one cause of bad form. For me if I don't pass one to the national standard that'll be my two lives up. But conversely there was a chance that waiting on Avanti so I could use my current results would've meant I'd have to sit them all again anyway if they didn't recruit within the next two years.
So I wouldn't blame you for thinking it's a bit daft, but personally I'd just take whatever opportunities you can get since it's not something you'll often get the chance to do. Before this vacancy I hadn't seen a trainee driver job from any TOC in my area for years, to the point where I think that I'm just going to start applying outside my 60-minute zone with the intent to move if I land one.

2 years then... But they have recently upped it to 4 or 5 I believe, due to the amount of candidates they had in pools.

I see your point, but I'm in a talent pool for 2 different companies so I think it may be a bit rash to take them again
