Just got an email saying as a Platinum member I can obtain Radisson VIP status for their hotel group (normally you need 30 nights/20stays a year)... that is not a bad perk. It's Radisson's top regular status and while it isn't the best hotel chain or loyalty program, to get it for free is very welcome. They have some nice properties in places.

Was just coming to post the same. It's a surprisingly decent perk and more generous than Amex Platinum which only gets your Premium.

I was surprised by that as well! Ever since hotels.com downgraded their rewards scheme I've been looking for a hotel chain to pick and stick to. Might make it Radisson if I'm going to get this every year.

Has anyone signed up for the radisson vip status? Did mine 10 days ago and still says club member.

The free standard premium return states it needs to be booked a minimum of 7 days in advance, I was planning to use it on Wednesday but didn't realise the 7 day rule was there until I tried to use the code a few minutes ago...

Is there any work arounds here? No worries if not.

Yes I did on 16th June but I’m still a club member as well.

I noticed that the email I received from Avanti said that the deadline for redeeming was the 30th June, but on the form that it links you to it says entries need to be received for the 11th June.

I’m going to give it a couple more days then start to question this. I only received the email on the 16th so it seems like a typo and I’ll be annoyed if it isn’t as they can’t send out an advert for it after it closes!

I also completed the Radisson Rewards form Avanti sent out over 2 weeks ago. Still haven’t been upgraded.

I completed the Avanti Radisson Rewards form about three weeks ago, and i was upgraded to VIP level today. Hopefully others will follow soon.

Just wanted to update I’ve been upgraded to VIP now. It has taken about 3 weeks from submitting the form. Think patience is a virtue with these things.

Radisson's systems are awful. I was downgraded to the basic tier despite meeting the criteria for the next tier up. Their customer services staff, clearly in some far-flung country, just kept repeating the criteria. I gave up trying to argue with them and just stay somewhere else now.

Likewise I’ve been upgraded today!

It says tier updates 07/27, does this mean we have the status for 2 years?

Is this still available? I never received the e-mail

I haven't waded through all 197 items. I have an Avanti account which I book tickets for myself and my partner, if I sign up Club Avanti can I still purchase a ticket for my partner thinking about the 10% discount off a trip when you sign up.

Yes you can, and critically all of the tickets you book count towards the tier targets.

Is anyone else having issues with the Club Avanti site? Instead of showing info such as number of trips taken, it keeps asking me to join again even though I joined a few months ago. I contacted customer service, but they weren’t very helpful, they just said they’d investigate and never followed up.

Can anybody help confirm or deny the following please?
Made two AWC journeys X2 people on the same day last week and only two got counted towards my Club Avanti total.
When I clicked on the "Why?" icon there was load of stuff about having to be 75 miles long (they were), booked on their website/App (they were) and indeed the other two identical journeys were counted anyway but nothing about only two journeys qualifying in a day which is hidden deep in Ts & C's and which has been quoted to me in an email subsequently
I asked whether this was new and have been told it was always the case.
I am sure it wasn't but can't prove it by checking a previous year's journey history.
Why exactly should two Euston to Manchester (for example) return journeys returning the next day count as four but returning the same day count as two?

I made a same day return journey from Milton Keynes to Glasgow for 2 people back in February and these have shown as 4 separate trips.

Thank you, I knew that I had similar before despite what they told me.
HI
I can 100% confirm at least around the middle of August I was also earning 3 points in a daytrip.

My most recent trip 24-09 should have earned 3 points but like you I was only credited 2 points and was told it's always been like that. TBH I dont know what kind of fast one Avanti are trying to pull but something funny is going on!

Yes, totally that...
Definitely had multiple journeys credited in one day last year despite it "always being like that".
I kind of get it (but don't like it obviously) if they want to stop people getting multiple credits for split ticket journeys but to penalise for doing a day return for two by only crediting two not four yet if you came back another day potentially for less money you get credited for four is just ridiculous.
(And obviously you can't book separately if you're using a 2T Railcard).
I was told it was being looked into but it's gone very quiet...

I’m sorry if this has been mentioned already, but the Club Avanti Ts & Cs section 4.2 does state you can earn a maximum of two qualifying journeys per day. Notwithstanding this, I accept Club Avanti are inconsistent at times about how they apply their rules.

No worries,
I have indeed seen this recently but had never done so in the years it's been operating previously and as others mentioned have been credited multiple journeys in the past.
It's the "it's always been like that" (it hasn't) that rankles and the nonsensical business that you could travel with someone for a day to somewhere, pay say over £200 for your tickets and get only two credits yet if come back any other day you might pay perhaps £100 and get credited for four...

Just achieved platinum for the 3rd year in a row - pleasantly surprised to receive a first class lounge pass in addition to my free first class return trip (don’t think this was advertised as a platinum perk).

Just beware that the pass is only valid for one visit to the Euston lounge. I mistakenly thought it was valid for the year of my platinum membership, and got turned away when I tried to visit a second time.

Have just fallen foul of the Club Avanti "can only have two journeys in a day" secret rule. Three of us travelled from Chester to London return and came back four days later, but only two credits.

Up there with Penrith to Warrington sometimes being credited, sometimes not.

The 10% off advance having to be used separately to other bookings in the basket - is it not possible to just discount one of the tickets rather than me having to book two times and then use the seat picker to fudge that we are together.

And lastly the totally unusable Standard Premium reward from Chester (costs me more to book to Crewe and use it from there as there are two of us on a 2 together) - just let me use it in Standard!

Actually do think it is a good idea, just needs some tinkering
