You never know, they might do what that did with the GN 313's and put one in a special livery for the farewell tour.

Considering how long 5712 , 5717 and 5727 have been in Bournemouth i wouldn't be surprised if one has been painted in a special livery for the farewell tour.

I’d love to think so, but with cash being tight, I doubt it. What they did with the 313 was ok but it was very slap dash and the livery applied was crap in terms of dimensions and all such like. I think if we were into mid next year with the NSE40 celebrations, I could foresee it but in late 2025, I doubt it although would love to be wrong!

5702 and 5708 have been de - energised for the last time. Decommissioning exams carried out and ready to be formed up for movement up to Derby Monday. Shoe gear removed and doors locked out of use. #455

Gosh that's quite a lot at Derby (Litchurch Lane ?), more than I expected. I suppose that includes quite a few from Newport, have lost track ?.
Altogether seven deliveries worth (assuming pairs of 455s each time).
(small correction (12+2) x 4 = 56 cars).

Derby being a staging point on the way to EMR Kingsbury was being mentioned in this thread a couple of weeks back.

I did wonder if EMR Kingsbury was still the plan as their through-put is rather low. Looking on Google Earth they are a bit short on siding space, which may well restrict their through-put, but there is quite a large area of waste land, so arrivals by road could be dumped there not affecting the sidings capacity. It could well turn into another "Vic Berry" situation (coaches piled on top of each other) !

5734 is back. Worked AM Weybridge diagram.
5870 is on the all day extra working.

Units out are shown as: 5701, 09, 10, 19, 29, 32, 34 and all 58xx.

5869 5873 are paired up. Worked 0820 Woking Waterloo and now on depot.

IIRC there were three units in the yard, a single and a pair, and I think a ROG 37 shifted the pair. Did it go back for the other one ?

I beleive the single unit (5723) is still at ADJn yard. I wonder if there are still any complete units in the scrap yard untouched ?

I think these must be the last units in SWT outer-suburban blue livery, with the remaining 455s being the last in SWT inner-suburban red. So unless there are any diesels still in long-distance white livery, the 455 and 458/5 withdrawal will see the end of Stagecoach era liveries on the south western lines, almost 8 & 1/2 years after SWR took over.

Thanks for the information, it looks like one of the Stagecoach era liveries will still be around for quite a while yet then. These units and the 455s are something of a testimony to the quality of the refurbishments that SWT carried out, both inside and out.

Don’t forget a few of the VEPs on SWT lasted 10 years or so through to the end in NSE livery so isn’t really a new thing paint lasting.

Indeed. And modern paint is a lot more durable. It can easily last at least 15 years.
