Lots of discussions up thread about the API over the years. We've frozen the current API as it's getting very old (parts of it date from 2013) and becoming unmaintainable.

We have uploaded a draft version of the next generation specification to GitHub at https://github.com/realtimetrains/api-specification/.

But the core thing here is that a set is formed of vehicles, not units. When looking at some other systems that I have access to, the 153 numbers in those AT sets are just missing now. It may well be that the vehicles that comprise those sets still have some reference back to their original 153 numbers but I don't think that those numbers are actually trustworthy now

The vehicle numbers in the AT sets last 3 digits do all match their former 153 set number.
In all internal systems, those 153s no longer exist either but the vehicle numbers do accurately show which each vehicle was originally.

The Trainmapper app will happily tell you what AT sets are allocated today, and show them on its map. I suppose you just have to be aware that it might be wrong for the reasons that Tom has outlined above.

Yes I can search for the AT sets, but that doesn't tell me the carriage numbers, which Trainmapper does

Enable detailed mode in the app's settings, then just tap and hold on the carriage image when viewing a service in "Live times".

Seems something might have gone wrong on RTT+. I've gone back to 25th June 2025 as I need some unit data from Crewe eg VT(Avanti) and this is what I'm getting.

Ahh, thanks for the rapid reply Tom. Hopefully it can be resolved. Nice to see TfW 153 (AT Sets) now show makes it a lot easier to track them down .

Either way, TfW operate at Crewe and I've checked that date myself with all operators and nothing shows up.

I was looking between AW and VT for that day. It would seem I posted the wrong screenshot. But as Tom has explained it's a issue there working on.

There are some Northern 156s that still show incorrectly in EMR colours. 156401 and 156415 I believe.
