Re the motor sounds - I am guessing people (at least enthusiasts), were hoping for a loud but modern sound as is the case with the S Stock/2009ts and most modern stuff on the National Rail network. It's kind of strange that they are very quiet as we are not used to it since the 1983 stock! But this is progress on technology![]()

This is definitely the first PMSM motor to be used outside of Asia in a metro application, excluding prototypes again.
I think it'll be a gamechanger for both the Piccadilly Line and eventually the Bakerloo Line.The A60 to S8 stock transition felt like a massive upgrade and honestly at the time, the S8 stock seemed so futuristic
