The Freightliner locos and 57604 are completely boxed in and not really viewable. Hopefully they get moved. Also the Test Track was a bit of a shambles with an electrical fault delaying us significantly. Railtour wasn’t great either sitting in Derby station for over an hour.
The delay was surely casued by being late away from Crewe.

The special also caused a great deal of inconvenience for regular passengers.
The placement of some 'fun fact' boards doesn't look great for photos either... (https://flic.kr/p/2rjVwhD)
Surely a record - event not even open and the enthusiast complaints have begun! I wondered how long the "its rubbish for fots" complaints would take to arrive! ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if there will be complaints about some people being unable to get a 'perfect' photo of such a train due to the sheer number of people floating around the site over the next 3 days.

It took the 57 a fair while to run round the Pendo at Derby station

because the train was late and the station busy. Once it was uncoupled it ran off to Chaddesden and had to wait for ages to come back

Anyone have one spare ticket for Saturday that they cannot use and wish to sell?
I would like to attend but traveling by train from Inverness for the event, it's a long way without guaranteeing entry. Thanks

I have a ticket for tomorrow but unable to sell it. I am willing to give it away if you promise to give some money to any charity of your choice.
Send me a conversation request and I'll send it on.
Obviously can't confirm you've given to charity so thats on you!

Hi Rab, I can do that, can provide proof of donation no problem. Is it for Saturday the ticket? I'd have a few hours Saturday afternoon, but at least would know would get in. Perhaps via email is better to liaise if that's ok? - duncan.brown.06@gmail.com
And only if you're definitely not going to be able to use! Thanks Duncan

Are there any issues passing tickets on to someone else, will they look for the original card holder ?

They say they’re going to, but I don’t know if they’ll do it in practice.

I've been gifted tickets for Sunday by a family friend (who are still going themselves, but not entering with me), and after a brief conversation with TGG Facebook, I was told "tickets are technically not transferable, but as long as you have a copy of the booking confirmation email and the ticket with QR code, you will be fine".

For what its worth, I've got 3 tickets - 1 for me, who lives in Selby, and 2 for my son and his girlfriend, who live in Nuneaton. I've just sent them the tickets e-mail and told them to use Sheets 1 & 2, and I'll use Sheet 3

I know they say about original cardholders etc., but I think that is just standard wording to discourage touting for Taylor Swift tickets and the like.

I was on the BLS special yesterday. I was expecting to have only a quick look around before heading back into town for my hotel. But we were more or less shepherded to the test track and onto the train there, which turned out to be an Elizabeth Line one, so not at all a new experience folrm me, and there we were stuck while they loaded (almost?) everyone from the Pendolino, then ran up and down, then had several movements of a few feet with something evidently going wrong. I don't think we were obliged to board that train but there was no information about what was happening.

I think my backpack is somewhat bigger than 20 L but I don't have a smaller one and no-one objected yesterday so I hope no-one will today.

They've said on Facebook that any rucksack you can carry on your back all day is practically going to be fine. So I wouldn't worry about it.

Also published last night is a calendar of things happening on the site each day with quite a few different talks from various people in the industry of experience as well as business. Chris Green has one which should be interesting for anyone interested in NSE, etc. I'll ignore Sunday lunchtime...
Where can one find that calendar?

220033 is there separated into its individual carriages within one of the buildings, as it seems to be in for work.
I heard a rumour last month that 220033 was stood down from the active fleet until October, so there was speculation it would be come the first 220 to be refurbished. Heard it had moved to Derby from Central Rivers.
True, but full vinyls on a 150 haven't been a good idea in the past.
Especially for a preserved train rather thanone for TOC use.

I enjoyed the BLS tour yesterday - decent group, no top men and only a couple of people who looked like they needed help dressing and washing! A good crowd in the carriage I was in other than one loud mouth who I enjoyed putting right

not that I do this sort of thing (obvs) but it was nice to cover the curve from the WCML behind Lichfield station and, of course, the works access line. Also I never managed a 57 drag when they were on the North Wales coast so happy to get that one crossed off ;)

I hope the raffle and sale of carriage labels raised lots of money for charity also.

Plenty of time offered to get a behind the scenes sneak peak on the festival site was nice. They have missed a trick there. They could have sold an early bird ticket for Thursday evening like many festivals now do
