The last one before this was several months ago so no, the batch before that came through very quicky so it's pretty much as and when.

197124 is booked to appear today on the 0957 Chester to Crewe with 197108. Not sure whether it'll happen!

Showing internally too. It is highly likely to swap with a 2 car at some point though as it's down to work the 19:15 Crewe to Carmarthen paired up which the 3s can't do.
A rather belated entry into service for this one after a previous visit to Chester saw it sent packing to Crewe South Yard for several weeks.

It's at Newport now (1008) working to Manchester for anybody looking to tick numbers
Thanks. Hoping to get it on its return working 1330 Manchester-Tenby as long as it does not get swapped at Cardiff.
The only other one in service that I need is 117 and frustratingly twice last week it was swapped at Cardiff on a Manchester-West Wales.

According to RTT, a 2 coach 153 is doing Milford Haven to Manchester today. So, here we are 13 August 2024 and we are still seeing these branch line sprinters that can do no more than 75mph being used on long distance main line services.

Had my first trip on one of these this morning. 08:01 Stockport to Manchester Piccadilly. All of seven miles!
Impressive though, very comfortable and spacious. Would be happy to travel to South Wales on one.

Half the Ebbw Vale - Newport service has been cancelled.
They’re nice and I like them but once you travel a bit further your opinion may change a little, they can be very rough riding.

They cartainly can be rough riding.
Though they are miles ahead of either a 150 or a pair of 153s for the South Wales to Manchester trains.
