• That one perfect evening near the summer solstice where you're in an excellent beer garden with good friends and it doesn't start getting even remotely dark until 11pm.
• Walking through pristine freshly fallen snow on a bright and clear morning when it's below freezing (my all time favourite kind of weather).
• Watching my dog run around in the stream having the time of her life. I swear you can see her smiling with pure joy on her face.
• Being from the Midlands, driving for hours and then finally catching a glimpse of the sea.
• The glorious sound of leather and cork smacking against willow.
• The sound of all of the seats at a football ground going up in unison as the crowd get excited at a promising attack taking shape.
• Cooking outdoors on my wood fired grill. Pleases me on a primal level.

As a 1980s teen, I used to love the smells of Paxman Valenta fumes. No idea why those were more appealing than the clag from Sulzer and EE lumps.

I did this one last night, it was good. The bit that I miss, since I moved, is not being able to have a hot bath just before getting into the freshly laundered bed. On the very few occasions that I stay in hotels I do like a room with a bath. A shower before isn't quite the same.

This is good but even better when someone refers to it by name.
